Something novel! A Democrat may run
By Brian Kirwin | Wednesday, May 25th, 2011 | PoliticsThe James River Journal announces that Del. Robin Abbott, who has been known in General Assembly circles to respond to “Who?”, will announce her “re-election intentions” on Thursday at a meeting of Newport News Demos.
Since the demise of Paula Miller, Abbott is one of the few remaining useless Democrats in the House of Delegates, but may want to return. She was drawn out of the 93rd District, so either she’s going to be a house shopper really soon, or she will run in the 94th.
Or, I guess, she won’t run at all. But why make a big deal if the one-term no-wonder was calling it quits?
What say you? 93rd? 94th? or packing it in?

A few days after Governor McDonnell speaks at UVA and reminds us all that it is an honor to participate as a citizen, and we owe each other civility in the process, Brian sinks to a new low in making light of a Delegate seeking re-election. This forum deserves better.
Mike, compared to the comments you’ve made about the House of Delegates, especially the Speaker, I’m tame.
No Brian, there is a difference in disagreeing on policy, and insulting a Delegate personnally. I have personal respect for the Speaker while I profoundly disagree with his policies which I think have done great harm to the Commonwealth. That is different than calling a Delegate “useless.”
“Useless” is not a personal insult. It is my description of her effectiveness as a legislator.
