Ken Gibson joins Sherwood Bowditch in competing for the nomination for the 98th District House of Delegate’s seat. It is likely that the Republican nomination will prove vital in determining who the next delegate from this district will be.

(Gloucester, VA) – Former Federal Prosecutor and Marine Ken Gibson announced his candidacy for Virginia’s 98th House of Delegates seat being vacated by Harvey Morgan. Gibson is competing for the Republican nomination in a process to be determined soon.
Gibson said, “Harvey Morgan has given our community more than 30 years of outstanding public service. With his retirement, our home in the Middle Peninsula needs another strong leader who will unequivocally defend our conservative values, and be an effective voice for our families at the General Assembly. My experience and track record of fighting for regular people at the local, state and federal levels has readied me for this mission.”
Gibson, who owns the Law Office of Ken Gibson in his home county of Gloucester, won accolades for his performance as an attorney at the U.S. Justice Department, where he earned commendation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A small business owner, Ken and his wife Beth are raising twins Jack and Katherine, aged two.
“We live in an absolutely amazing area,” Gibson said. “Beth and I feel so blessed to be raising our children on the Middle Peninsula. We can’t imagine living anywhere else. Unfortunately, too many families still struggle to make ends meet, and remain concerned about constant government encroachments on their daily lives.”
“I want to serve in the spirit of our great Governor Bob McDonnell and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. They have demonstrated that real leadership requires a proactive agenda to defend our constitutional rights and our pocketbooks on a local and national level. This is exactly the kind of experience I bring to the job.”
While holding a wide-ranging agenda, Gibson said his campaign will focus on:
• Promoting economic growth and fostering a low tax, business-friendly environment
• Providing a top-quality education for our children and realizing the proper level of resources
• Ensuring public safety and protecting families in our community
• Protecting our area’s unique quality of life, including green spaces and clean water
• Defending traditional values, including the right to life and 2nd Amendment rightsGibson noted his former position as Legal Counsel for Virginia General Assembly committees as a key qualification that has prepared him to represent the 98th district from day one.
Gibson said, “I have spent my career making the law work for the people and keeping government focused on its core functions. I champion people. I don’t rest until I get the job done. I would consider it a tremendous honor to serve the wonderful citizens of the 98th district at the General Assembly in Richmond.”
