    Shaun,

Despite the breaking news, this was neither a drone attack nor a CIA operation. The Joint Special Operations Command, a.k.a. Delta Force, went in and shot him in the face. That is why we have his body.

    Great job, guys.

Truly remarkable job by the spec-ops guys in Pakistan. The president also said that this was done today.

I also thought it was exceptionally classy by the president to have contacted President Bush to tell him the news.

    President Bush’s statement:

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001.

I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude.

This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Team 6 kill. Awesome. Time to tap a keg and celebrate with bacon.

“exceptionally classy” and Obama are words that will never go together. Perhaps you might replace them with “political strategy”.

sara: Very sad comment. It is a great day to be an American as Justice has been served.

Try to smile for just a minute to enjoy the success before you fll back into your depression…

Sara: I guess there’s no new so good that some Americans won’t try to put a political spin on it.

This is a great day for America..all of us, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Tea Partiers, Greens.

    Let’s not argue.

It is a great day ~ and a day to give thanks to Presidents Bush and Obama and all the folks working tirelessly over the last decade to keep us all safe and find this guy. It’s been a long pursuit and, as the President said, it’s a moment to celebrate together as “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Well done, Mr. President, well done!

It’s true! You got me. Obama depresses me. He depresses the economy too.

But nowhere did I say I’m not happy that Osama Bin Laden is finally finding out that his long awaited virgin welcome was not to be. I’m smiling very much about that.

    I agree. Let’s not argue.

Yes, I think we can all agree that if only he had a flight suit, a “Mission Accomplished” banner and an unrelated country to invade, President Obama might be seen as classy.
