Radtke Pulls Ahead…of Newt Gingrich
By | Thursday, April 21st, 2011 | Politics

While it’s true that the $55K that Tea Party Organizer turned Senate candidate Jamie Radtke raised in the first quarter paled in comparison to the $1.5 million raked in by front-by-a-long-shot-runner George Allen, Radtke did out do one major candidate.

She raised more than Newt Gingrich.

According to Politico, “Newt Gingrich raised a meager $53,000 into his political action committee in the first three months of the year.”

No word yet on whether Radtke intends to form an “exploratory committee” of her own.

Well, I guess I was right to tell HisRoc to relax about Newt’s candidacy.

And I’ll say again about Radtke. Tea Party activists need to stop thinking that the US Senate is the first step of the political ladder. Do a House race or the State legislature instead.

    Ward,

The Politico piece you reference is highly misleading and confuses two separate efforts. The American Solutions PAC was created to support conservative candidates who share our values and help them win elections, which it was very successful in doing in the 2010 cycle. And we fully expect to be even more successful in 2012 and the activity level to increase as the election year once again approaches.

The Politico story is completely off base because it suggests that the American Solutions PAC is somehow connected to Gingrich’s explore effort for the presidency. It is not. The two efforts are completely separate. So the headline suggesting that Gingrich is somehow having trouble raising hard dollars is completely inaccurate because the amount raised for the PAC is not connected to and has zero reflection of the amount of money being raised for his exploratory effort.

I hope that clears things up.

So, Dan, how much has Newt raised for his exploratory effort? Enough to fly to Iowa in coach?

    Valentinus,

Okay, when can I relax about The Donald?

    HisRoc,

You can relax about The Donald when the Repubs get off their rear ends and fight like the NRA. I’m sorry if that frightens you.

His Roc, The Donald is a puff of smoke in the wind.
