Obama Sends in the Drones in Libya
By | Thursday, April 21st, 2011 | International

President Obama has ordered drone strikes on Qadaffi forces in Libya. This appears to be a part of an attempt to strike at urban targets that might be harder to hit with larger airstrikes.

Regardless of one’s opinion as to the wisdom of this conflict, there is no question that something must be done to address the fact that Qadaffi’s forces have been advancing despite our large scale air strikes and cruise missle launches.

It would not be in our best interests to see him stay in power. Unfortunately, it may also be harmful for us if he loses, due to the fact that the rebels may be heavily associated with jihad.

Hopefully, the situation will work out in a way that is benefitial to our national interests.

Send in the clowns – well maybe they’re here.

Drones make sense. If Qadaffi is the target.

  3. valentinus April 22, 2011 15:24 pm

Am I wrong in thinking this idea of using drones to target individuals could lead to drones coming in as well as going out? They are getting cheaper you know.

  4. Steve Vaughan April 22, 2011 15:54 pm

Val: Yes, but the potential for the U.S Air Force to make a mess out of somebody’s whole country should be sufficient to deter anybody sending a drone here.

  5. HisRoc April 22, 2011 16:38 pm

    Steve,

Suppose the drones are launched by Hamas and were bought from China and equipped with nuclear devices bought from North Korea, all of which was financed by an Islamic charity in Saudi Arabia?

Whose country are we going to make a mess out of?

  6. Steve Vaughan April 22, 2011 16:58 pm

HR: Well, my response would be all of them.

But then my immediate response to 9/11 was that we should turn everything east of Israel and west of India into a sheet of glass.

Politicans being what they are, we’d probably just mess up Hamas areas…although why we’d miss the opportunity to take out the N. Koreans is beyond me.

Actually, this does bring up a serious point..which is that this is why we need to be talking to these countries that we don’t like. Do you think Iran and North Korea realize what the unchanging policy of the U.S., under Democrats and Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives, has been for the past 60 years to the prospect of attack on our homeland or our allies with weapons of mass destruction? They might not know. It’s never been an issue that would interest them before. We need to sit down with them and tell them. And add, “And this means you.”

    SV,

You’re pretty blood thirsty for someone who leans left.

    I like that.

I was thinking of someone launching a drone within NA, not from overseas. This tracks with HisRoc’s scenario but makes it far more difficult to blast everyone. In addition if we have done that repeatedly to others we will find it hard to get backing for it. The same problem may have happened with Kennedy trying to knock off Castro and then Castro or others possibly turning the tables.

Another problem with drones doing hit jobs in Libya is that we aren’t even “at war” with them. Nor are we sending drones to take out Assad etc. At least yet.

SV Obama Has been talking and bowing to these countries. Maybe you need to contact him and tell him your ideas.

HR-I’m not bloodthirsty, but I believe in deterrence. It worked on the Soviets for 50 years and they were a lot bigger threat than any of these third-world countries with slapped together nuke programs.

I think we should get togther with the other senior members of the nuclear club, the Russians, the Chinese, the Brits and the French…none of whom have anything to gain by a nuclear war…and announce that we all forswear the first strike use of nuclear weapons and agree that we’ll all immediately launch on anyone who does carry out a first strike.

I call this “Unilaterally Assured Destruction.”

    OBAMA FULFILLING THE BIBLE

America’s founders spoke highly of the Bible, even without teleprompters. But Barack Hussein Obama, even with teleprompters, studiously avoids the following Bible verses and the other related information:

Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury – how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!
For some stunning info on Pres. Obama and his fellow subversives, Google “Michelle Obama’s Allah-day,” “Obama Supports Public Depravity,” “David Letterman’s Hate Etc.,” “Un-Americans Fight Franklin Graham” and also “Sandra Bernhard, Larry David, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman.” Also Google “Prof. F. N. Lee’s ISLAM IN THE BIBLE [PDF].”
PS – Since Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note “taken away”), Christians everywhere should constantly pray that the Lord will soon “take away” or at least overthrow all US leaders who continue to sear their conscience and arrogantly trample the God-given rights of the majority including the rights of the unborn. Do we need a second American Revolution?
PPS – For a rare look at the 181-year-old endtime belief which has long neutralized millions of American patriots by promising them an “imminent rapture” off earth – which has diverted them away from being prepared to stand against all enemies, domestic as well as foreign – Google “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty,” “Pretrib Rapture Diehards,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrecy,” and “Pretrib Rapture – Hidden Facts” – all by the author of the bestselling nonfiction book “The Rapture Plot” (the most accurate and highly endorsed documentation on the pretrib rapture’s long-covered-up-but-now-revealed beginnings in Britain in 1830 – see Armageddon Books). Also Google “Stamping Out Harold Camping.”

    Michael,

Has anyone close to you ever suggested that you might need to get some help? Seriously.

[Thanks, BearingDrift. Caught this web bit not long ago!]

    PRETRIB RAPTURE CENSORSHIP !

How can the “rapture” be “imminent”? Acts 3:21 says that Jesus “must” stay in heaven (He’s now there with the Father) “until the times of restitution of all things” which includes, says Scofield, “the restoration of the theocracy under David’s Son” which obviously can’t begin before or during Antichrist’s reign. (“The Rapture Question,” by the long time No. 1 pretrib authority John Walvoord, didn’t dare to even list, in its scripture index, the too-hot-to-handle Acts 3:21!) Since Jesus can’t even leave heaven before the tribulation ends (Acts 2:34,35 echo this), the rapture therefore can’t take place before the end of the trib!
Paul explains the “times and the seasons” (I Thess. 5:1) of the catching up (I Thess. 4:17) as the “day of the Lord” (5:2) which FOLLOWS the posttrib sun/moon darkening (Matt. 24:29; Acts 2:20) WHEN “sudden destruction” (5:3) of the wicked occurs! The “rest” for “all them that believe” is tied to such destruction in II Thess. 1:6-10! (If the wicked are destroyed before or during the trib, who’d be left alive to serve the Antichrist?) Paul also ties the change-into-immortality “rapture” (I Cor. 15:52) to the posttrib end of “death” (15:54). (Will death be ended before or during the trib? Of course not! And vs. 54 is also tied to Isa. 25:8 which is Israel’s posttrib resurrection!)
Many are unaware that before 1830 all Christians had always viewed I Thess. 4’s “catching up” as an integral part of the final second coming to earth. In 1830 this “rapture” was stretched forward and turned into a separate coming of Christ. To further strengthen their novel view, which the mass of evangelical scholars rejected throughout the 1800s, pretrib teachers in the early 1900s began to stretch forward the “day of the Lord” (what Darby and Scofield never dared to do) and hook it up with their already-stretched-forward “rapture.” Many leading evangelical scholars still weren’t convinced of pretrib, so pretrib teachers then began teaching that the “falling away” of II Thess. 2:3 is really a pretrib rapture (the same as saying that the “rapture” in 2:3 must happen before the “rapture” ["gathering"] in 2:1 can happen – the height of desperation!).
Other Google articles on the 181-year-old pretrib rapture view include “Famous Rapture Watchers,” “Pretrib Rapture Diehards,” “X-Raying Margaret,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” “Walvoord Melts Ice,” “Wily Jeffrey,” “The Rapture Index (Mad Theology),” “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism,” “Scholars Weigh My Research,” “Pretrib Hypocrisy,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrecy,” “Deceiving and Being Deceived,” and “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty” – all by the author of the bestselling book “The Rapture Plot” (see Armageddon Books).
