Sen. Janet “Because I Said So” Howell Defines Zealot As Anyone Who Disagrees With Her…
By Shaun Kenney | Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 | PolicyMaybe she’s angry because she’s not getting her way? I am holding less and less respect for State Sen. Janet Howell by the day, as I’m sure more of her constituents are becoming ashamed of their representation in Richmond these past few months with her atrocious antics and heavy hand in Richmond.
First, she defies all standards of decorum in Senate committee by insisting her whim trumps standard rules and procedure on bills Janet determines to be important. Then she has the audacity to attack Governor McDonnell as a ‘zealot’ for insisting that a person’s “choice” to have an abortion should be bankrolled by John Q. Taxpayer:
“I’m hearing a lot of regrets from people who voted for the governor because they believed he was a moderate,” Howell told reporters following a committee meeting on redistricting today.
“And now they realize that he’s actually quite a zealot on social issues.”
The governor’s office later responded.
“The governor is a conservative. Senator Howell is not,” said McDonnell communications director Tucker Martin. He called Howell’s comments “angry and unfortunate” and said they do not help lawmakers find common ground.
Of course, Janet Howell does sound angry, and it’s unfortunate that she can’t see the zealotry of her own position. Good people can agree to disagree — Janet Howell just lashes out.
…and this woman drew the redistricting lines for the Virginia Senate?

She’s just modeling herself after Nancy Pelosi. And she’s not using whim she’s using political convenience as her guidepost.Political convenience is the guiding principle of the autocrat. They own the media and the judges to validate their convenience as high principle and law. They own the schools where the brand is made sacrosanct. The autocrat hates memory – because then what they did on one occasion might serve as a restraining precedent on the next occasion when they want to do the opposite. For political convenience. Obama calls mention of his past statements even one day ago as “playing the old Washington game which I refuse to discuss.”
