WaPo: Cuccinelli Has No Endorsement For ’12 Senate; Will Not Run (For Now)
By Shaun Kenney | Thursday, March 24th, 2011 | PoliticsAs Cuccinelli stated, a politician never says never… but Virginia AG Ken Cuccinelli is demurring on an endorsement for Virginia’s 2012 GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, as noted in the WaPo’s Virginia Politics blog:
“As far as an endorsement goes, that’s not something that would happen while the current election cycle is still underway,” he said. “I’ve never, even for my closest allies, weighed in before the year of the election.”
Cuccinelli was strongly rumored to be considering a run for U.S. Senate during December 2010, and his potential candidacy was the buzz of the RPV Advance among insiders. Jamie Radtke announced her candidacy shortly thereafter in late December, followed by the announcements of Bishop Earl Jackson, David McCormick, and George Allen.
Both Delegate Bob Marshall and PWC Chairman Corey Stewart are also considering potential campaigns for the GOP nod.

I want to believe that Ken Cuccinelli will not endorse Radtke for Senate, as he was rumored to plan to do. I would lose all respect for him if he did, as he must know better than most what Radtke is really about.
[...] Cuccinelli has no endorsement for ‘12 U.S. Senate, will not run (for now) [...]
Ken has been making phone calls for Jamie, asking to lend their support behind her. So, basically, this is an endorsement, just privately… and before Marshall or Stewart have put their leg in the race. I don’t get it, especially considering Marshall has propelled Cuccinelli to where he is today.
