Redistricting session to be part of veto session
By | Saturday, February 26th, 2011 | Policy

The special redistricting session will be called upon Sine Die and immediately adjourn until the “veto/amendment” session begins on April 4, 2011.

See HJ986 and Majority Leader Tommy Norment’s amendments.

This is the same process that was used 10 years ago.

Makes sense. Allows the committees to meet and bills to be introduced. Aside from the two P&E Committees and the leadership on both sides, none of the other members really have any input into redistricting until the bills hit the floor for a vote.
