Second Elimination Vote in logo contest
By JR Hoeft | Thursday, February 17th, 2011 | Catch-AllThank you very much to all who submitted entries into our logo contest.
Now it’s up to you, the Bearing Drift reader, to help us make the final selection.
Yesterday’s vote narrowed it down to the top three, seen below. Today’s vote will yield the top two that will go head-to-head over the weekend.
After the vote closes on Monday, the committee will take your vote into serious consideration and announce the ultimate winner who will receive $250 and the project.
You have narrowed down the following three as our semi-finalists:
Logo 1: “Lighthouse”![]() |
Logo 2: “Compass”![]() |
Logo 3: “Sailing Ship”![]() |
|

We're 75% there! Thank you to everyone who has so far contributed! Just $2000 to go!

I commend whoever designed the sailing ship logo for its aesthetic interest although I think it would better on a naval history website or something like that.
I would vote for the sailing ship logo if it had the BD on the sail. Bearing drift refers to a ship after all. As it is, I like the lighthouse better.
The sails are “B and D”.
Pretty unique, but maybe not so obvious.
