Logo Contest: First Elimination Vote (poll closes Thursday, 6 a.m.)
By JR Hoeft | Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 | Catch-AllThank you very much to all who submitted entries into our logo contest.
Now it’s up to you, the Bearing Drift reader, to help us make the final selection.
In a series of elimination votes, we will narrow down the entries from four to one, beginning with your vote today. The top three will move onto the next round tomorrow, followed by the top two Friday. Then, over the weekend we will vote between the top two for the winner of the popularity contest. Polls will always close at 6 a.m. EST the day the next round begins.
At that time, the committee will take your vote into serious consideration and announce the ultimate winner.
The winner will receive $250 and the project.
The design panel has selected the following four entries as our finalists:
Entry 1: “Lighthouse”![]() |
Entry 2: “Compass”![]() |
Entry 3: “Capitol”![]() |
Entry 4: “Sailing Ship”![]() |

Are comments on the logos still welcomed? Logo 1 could be improved if instead of lighthouse it was silhouette of VA capitol bldg. and instead of the wave at bottom it was silhouette of the state.
