Hi-brow: Kaine to meet with the president on Senate bid
By | Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 | Politics

Looks like D.J. McGuire might get his wish. RTD is reporting that former part-time governor and full-time campaigner-in-chief Tim Kaine is meeting as early as today to discuss a U.S. senate run with the “Boss.”

Former Gov. Timothy M. Kaine is expected to speak with President Barack Obama in the next day or two before deciding whether to re-enter elective politics and run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Democratic incumbent Jim Webb in 2012.
….
The former governor said he was “flattered” by the interest and support shown for him running for office, but said he needs to have additional discussions on the matter before making a decision.

If Kaine is elected to the Senate will it be a part time gig while he continues to run the DNC, like it was when he was the Governor of Virginia?

Maybe Obama will advise him to be more like Mark Warner.

Time to dig up Tim Kaine Quotes and video clips.

It is odd how Dem Senators from VA seem to disappear when they cross over into DC. If this were Oregon or Wyoming I could understand how a Senator might be “out of the picture” for long periods but these guys do it just going next door. Mr Kaine will have his work cut out for him if he hopes to follow in Webb and Warner’s first class disappearing act. But HisRoc is right. He has shown plenty of talent already.
