Gear is one to critisize about this-he moved into the district to run as well. Wish him well with his health issues but sooo glad he’s out of the GA.
FWIW, Gear actually DID move into the district. He lived in the house and when folks came to check — he was there. It was his house. Today, on TV, a woman answered the door and claimed that Stuart lived in the house but the guy who has lived next door for more than two decades hasn’t seen him around at all.
Stuart no more lives in the house he claims as his residence than you or I do. It’s a scam. It’s a sham. It’s what we call a lie. You can be sure voters are aware of it. It’s a disgrace and leaves anyone and everyone wondering, if he’ll lie about this, what else will his unbridled ambition and willful deceit lead him to do. My hope is, after tomorrow, we won’t have to wonder.
Not sure what your beef is with Gear, but Tom has been our delegate for 9 years. He’s outspoken b ut is a man of his word. To my knowledge, he has the most conservative fiscal voting record in the General Assembly. He’s a champion of the little guy and has served honorably. We are sad to see him go and wish him and his family some comfort and peace. A man who steps down after serving so nobly to deal with his own advancing Multiple Sclerosis while tending to his mother and sister — both terminal — deserves to be replaced with a person of honor and character in the General Assembly.
Chris Stuart need not apply.
It seems no doubt that Stuart changed his official residence within a day or so after Gear’s resignation. That’s bad enough, but it is what it is.
What bugs me is that Stuart is telling one group one thing and other groups another. He tells developers one thing and then tells the Ft Monroe and Buckroe Preservationists another. He talks low taxes to conservatives, but talks raising revenue to the business-as-usual establishment.
He speaks of small government to the Tea Party, but is supported by the unelected and expansionist regional government commissions. He is telling average working people he is for them, while the local influence peddlers bankroll his campaign.
The patently false mailers his campaign staffer’s PAC just sent out about his opponents are incredible.
There is a lot of unsettling information about Chris Stuart popping up all over the place. Just red this one. http://www.jamesriverjournal.com/politics/16-news/14567-will-the-real-chris-stuart-please-man-up-green-campaign-responds-to-chris-stuarts-deceptive-tactics.html
Looks like Machiavelli Stuart has high ambitions. What are his connections to the 91st District and how long has he had them?
Elephant-I wish Gear well with his health issues as well. This has nothing to do with that. As for the most fiscally conservative, when you pay your own taxes late 20 times in the last 20 years and bounce checks for already late taxes-I am not sure it matters. Its called responsbility. Gear couldnt manage his own businesses. And I know plenty of people that say he told them one thing and did the exact opposite-without any notice.
