Firehouse Primary for GOP Nod Set in 91st
By D.J. Spiker | Thursday, January 6th, 2011 | PoliticsAfter a lengthy meeting today of the 91st District Committee, a firehouse primary to determine the Republican nomination will be taking place in Hampton, York and Poquoson on Tuesday, January 18th.
Voting will take place from 3 PM – 7 PM.
I’ve heard of three or four candidates thus far, including Hampton City Councilman Chris Stuart, York County Vice-Chair Chad Green and two others, including one apparently being back by the now-resigned Tom Gear.

At last night’s YCRC meeting, Tom Gear provided the factors and context for his decision to resign. His suffering from MS, not to mention the medical challenges and issues of his immediate family would break anyone. My thoughts and prayers to Tom and his family.
