OH NOES! Cantor is Facebook BFF with Carly Taitz!
By | Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 | Policy

Talk about the dumbest damn thing I’ve read this morning — someone thinks this is even worthy of comment:

But they must be friends if they’re hanging out over the holidays, right? On Monday, Taitz posted this photo of her and Cantor in an album titled “December 27, 2010.” Except the photo actually appears to be three months old.

Back on Sept. 27, Taitz wrote on her blog: “Yesterday I was able to meet with the House minority (soon to be majority) whip Eric Cantor as part of a small group reception at Newport Beach Balboa Bay club. The meeting did not deal with eligibility and my presence there does not mean that Congr Cantor and several other Congressmen and former SEC chairman Chris Cox, who were present there will take up this issue after the election. he meeting dealt with other issues, so please don’t harass those congressmen with phone calls, they will not talk about eligibility.”

And on Sept. 30, OC Weekly published an item about Taitz’s political doings that included the very same photo Taitz has now published on Facebook.

So aside from posing for that photo with Taitz, what does Cantor actually think of her and her crusade?

Are you serious? Was it that slow a news day?  Do we have to generate press rather than report on what’s actually happening?

Then again, it came from the Washington Post.  Source considered.

Keep this one in your back pocket the next time someone says the advantage the MSM has over bloggers is editors.  Great catch…

It’s Christmas time at the Post and Ben had to get some kind of a story out…let’s head to Facebook!

    Oh. Good. Grief.

The Post continues to fail badly in their quest to regain relevance.

I have empathy for some Post reporters. They do try to do a good job, but there’s, unfortunately, guilt by association. Eventually they’ll be rescued from having to work there.

Michael Shear is a great case in point. Of course, he was a strong enough personality that he could still carry his tone regardless of the editorial persuasion of the WaPo.

Now he’s a rockstar with the New York Times:

    …and get this — a blogger. :)

We should all friend Post reporters and then blog about it.

…and of course, I mixed up Carly Taitz with David Ortiz, thus completely vindicating any WaPo editor wondering who the hell Carly Ortiz is.

    Ah well.

That’s ok, Shaun. We knew what you meant. :-)
