Shaun Kenney delves into “personhood” on RedState
By | Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 | Policy

Kudos to Shaun on a great, and appropriately national, post over on the frontpage of RedState. A short portion of what Shaun writes:

In 2008, I was first introduced to the personhood movement. I had political involvement in Colorado in 2006 (successfully running then-Rep. Marilyn Musgrave’s re-election campaign) and knew many of the players in the state. Instantly, I threw in my support behind the movement, without hesitation or reserve.

Why? Because the argument for personhood was so undeniably true. In short, every human being has the basic human right to exist. And further, all human beings deserve the protection of our laws.

Read the rest. It’s worth it.

Shaun Kenney is a class act. Human life is sacred. There are no illigitimate fetuses, the problem is illigitimate parents.

If I cut of my finger, and the finger decays and turns into dust, did I kill a person?

Is a clump of cells living in a woman’s uterus before it has consciousness a person? All the science I have been exposed to points out that the until about the end of the fourth month the fetus does not possess brain waves that in any way could provide evidence of consciousness. When does a soul come into existence? Well a soul thinks, and we can measure at which point that which is developing in the uterus is capable of thought.

If it can’t think it is not person.

There are teenagers and elderly persons who fit your rather barbaric definition, LittleDavid…

Little David, After I clean the vomit off of my keyboard I will still be nauseated by what you said. Had I seen it a week + ago I would have hurled chum then too.

You my man are capable of respecting human life but like all of us mere mortals cannot decide at which stage of a pregnancy that a fertilized egg becomes human. Our president, The ONE, by his own admission did not consider a fetus human with the right to live until air entered its lungs after a natural birth.. (tough shit if the fetus breathed after a so called botched abortion LD?). How does his opinion differ from yours? He is entitled to his opinion but like yours it is equally flawed.

You are acknowledging that the soulless fetus in a liberal(body) by your argument is less safe than a human fetus in a conservative.. I got to hand it to ya pal.. As someone who has held a bleeding aborted fetus in my own hands, the suggestion that you know when a soul comes into existence is sick LD.

May God help you and forgive you.
