In this season of giving, the DVPA gives us Brian Moran
By JR Hoeft | Tuesday, December 7th, 2010 | PoliticsThank you, Democrats!
And here I thought the DPVA might have learned their lesson and might have moved towards a more practical, centrist, mainstream, limited government-type approach to party building.
Nope.
They stayed, predictably, true to their liberal progressive roots and have chosen as their new dear leader a familar face: Brian Moran.
Wasting no time, Moran outlined his party’s objectives, but couldn’t help but include this zinger in a DPVA email:
“Virginia Democrats have always been the leading voice for good jobs, good schools and equal opportunity for every family. With the help of great leaders like Mark Warner, Tim Kaine, Jim Webb and Barack Obama we have made great gains on behalf of the people of this Commonwealth. But now those gains are under attack by Republicans who put their political agendas ahead of middle-class families.”
Once again, instead of focusing on a serious discussion about how to fix the economy, balance budgets, restrain spending, limit government, and stimulate job growth, Moran goes straight for the hyperbole, self-congratulations, and class warfare.
Welcome back, Brian! We missed you!

there was much gnashing of teeth about Moran’s ascension over at NotLarrySabato. I didn’t want to invite further criticism by adding my purely anecdotal observation: don’t the Moran brothers look mean?
It’s like Christmas in December…oh…wait…
kelley,
Jim Moran looks not mean but like a bully–you know, someone who is a tough guy when it comes to beating up women and small children. Brian looks like he has been on the receiving end of bullying, kind of wussy.
Of course, it’s not like the alternatives were any better… just goes to show how utterly weak the Democratic bench really is.
