Just in from voting for Rob Wittman (VA-1) in Lancaster. Voter number 387 and there were plent more behind me. I felt rather the buffoon when I learned there not, not two, but THREE constitutional amendent proposals. All of which had been endorsed by the local Repubs and all of which I voted a big fat NO on. I don’t know who comes up with this junk, nor why the RPVA would endorse any of it.
In terms of turnout, pretty good considering there aren’t really any big races up here to bother going to vote upon. (Gee, where is a Prop 19 and “weed card” ballot issue when you need it?)
Craig Kilby,
You have a problem with giving 100% permanently disabled veterans a tax break? Who invited you to the party?
Oh, that’s right, you are one of those Tea Party members, correct?
[...] stay tuned! I’ll be posting live updates of the various races right here, on twitter, on the Bearing Drift Live Blog! If you hear any stories today comment below or send me an email at [...]
LD,
That is an unfair attack on Craig. I am a retired Army officer with a minor service-related disability and I voted No also.
Brian S. over at CS said it best: you can grant disabled veterans tax relief without creating a constitutionally protected class of people.

HisRoc,
I take it you are not then one of our numerous veterans returning from Iraq with 100% disabilities. If they retire with 100% of their income they are not retiring into the lap of luxury.
Who better to constitutionally protect then 100% disabled returning war veterans? I would appreciate it if we did enshrine their protections in the constitution.
What happened? Did Glenn Beck speak out against it so now all of you Tea Party members know what you think?
I guess that is why it needs to be in the constitution. Maybe we’ll never get society to agree to pay these war heroes what they really deserve, but we can force everybody to nod their head when tax day comes around.
Back in the predictions thread, who told you Morgan Griffith would win in the 9th?
LD,
Your constant references to associating anyone who doesn’t agree with you with the Tea Party is tiresome and, quite frankly, makes you sound like an idiot.
You obviously can’t read and understand other people’s comments; I doubt that you are capable of independent thought.
Congratulations are in order. Repubs did better than I expected and better even than some of you had hyped in Virginia, taking a 9-2 lead in Congressional seats.
oops, TV call fooled me, I guess Connolly squeeked it out.
