Perriello charged in car wreck
By JR Hoeft | Monday, October 18th, 2010 | Policy
U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello, Democrat from Virginia’s 5th District, was involved in a car accident Friday evening in Nottaway County (which is in the 4th District) on U.S. 460.
Thankfully the accident was not fatal, but there were injuries and Perriello has been charged with causing the crash by making an “unsafe lane change”.
I guess he now knows why folks in Hampton Roads want the road widened…or, in the words of one Bearing Drift contributor: Perriello – lurching to the left again!

a shout out to my hometown newspaper, Courier-Record of Blackstone VA, who scooped this first.
as to injuries, Perriello is UN-Hurt.
I’d Rather Vote With Robert Hurt,
Than Drive With Tom Perriello.
C’mon — let’s have an old fashioned bumper sticker contest!!!
What the heck was he doing in Nottoway County anyhow? Isn’t that in the 4th District?
The Fourth is kind of a convenient place between the 5th District and the 1st District.
After those pictures of Krystal Ball got out…
Tom Perriello: Racing us right off the road
I understand he (Perriello) slid off the phone books he sits on to see over the dash.
Perriello drives like jello. There’s always room for jello, but appearantly not on rt 460.
Lemme guess — Perriello was looking for Rudolph?
until this race, i always thought having a driver was an affectation.
but it is really necessary in our high-tech cellphone era because the candidate is on the phone constantly (raising money probably). also, he/she is bound to be exhausted.
and finally, even a fender bender grabs headlines. If Perriello had run over a dog, he would have to withdraw.
Come now guys, we shouldn’t be so hard on Tom. After all, he probably couldn’t help it as he’s so used to having someone whisper: “Go left, young man. Go left!”
Ack! A Christmas Elf has escaped from the North Pole! Keep an eye out for Krystal Ball.
Here’s a good one from Faith N’ Country:
“Congratulations to Tom Perriello on becoming the newest graduate of the Creigh Deeds School of Driving!”
Ouch…
Seems Perriello’s lane changes are as reckless as his policy changes.

The police should have also charged him with being an accessory to a government train wreck.
I suspect that this might cost Tom Terrific his Obama endorsement. After all, he said, “We don’t want to give the car keys back to the same people who drove it into the ditch in the first place!”
Guess Tom really is in a world of Hurt.
I vote that Craig wins the bumper sticker contest.
