On NBC News Sunday, former President Jimmy Carter actually said, “I feel that my role as a former president is probably superior to that of other presidents.” Real Clear Politics has the video.
At one point when he was back to teaching Sunday School and building houses for Habitat for Humanity, I might have agreed. Then again, it does seem to indicate that Jimmy missed the Sunday when they were teaching humility. But all of that was before he started mucking around in foreign policy and suggesting that he actually ever knew what he was talking about.
Part of Carter’s problem is that he thinks he’s better than everyone else. In the book he’s hawking, he even trashed Ted Kennedy. And face it, that’s only a grudge because Kennedy challenged him for the nomination in 1980.
No, Jimmy, your ex-Presidency does not rise to the level of superior, even to Bill Clinton.
But, we’ll give you this, your ex-Presidency is far superior to your Presidency.
