GOP to Announce Agenda in Sterling VA
By E M Barner | Monday, September 20th, 2010 | PoliticsA well-connected GOP insider has leaked the top line on the House GOP leaderships’ new governing agenda.
ABC news was told today that the GOP’s official agenda will be unveiled on Thursday at a small hardware in Sterling, Virginia. Congressman Boehner is expected to be accompanied by a few other members of leadership and local business owners. The GOP’s new agenda, which has been compared to the 1994 “Contract with America,” will include legislation related to jobs, spending, health care, national security, and reforming Washington.
For local Republicans, the question is “Who will be included?” Will local Congressman Frank Wolf be invited? Will Keith Fimian, entrepreneur and GOP challenger in the 11th district join in the announcement?

If they don’t have security at the entrances, then Gerry Connolly will show up touting his fiscal conservative bona fides.
“It is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now … Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus.”

James,
Ronald Reagan. And not only did it work as promised, but it ended a cycle of four recessions in 12 years.
But, the Democrats are going to end the Bush Tax Cuts and “soak the wealthy.”
“Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.”

I just watched the speech. The ideas are all there, but the party needs someone to get that message out better than McCarthy or Boehner. No offense to them, but in terms of public image we need a better mouth-piece.
Yes, seeing the tanned and rested Boehner in the back of a country hardware store was so ridiculous as to be not only funny, but I thought I was watching the theater of the absurd. Did I notice the golf glove in his back pocket?
