We Suck Less
By | Sunday, September 12th, 2010 | Politics

Tim Kaine went on the Daily Show to talk about how the Democrats are the underdog this year because they “speak for the underdog”, which I assume he means big banks, big pharma, and big car companies. To his credit, Jon Stewart gives Kaine a tongue lashing and gets the finger in return. What interests me is that no one seems to understand that the Democrats have controlled both the House and the Senate since 2006 not 2008. With election season now officially underway, expect this dog fight to get nasty.

“They suck worse” – kinda like choosing between two evils and somebody is claiming to be less “evil”.

So, the questions are framed for us:

What flavor of socialism and authoritarianism will you be voting for? Who will you be giving the power to steal our money only to bribe their friends with it, this time? Who will you be appointing with your vote as being more qualified to run your life than you?

I wish the Republicans would recapture the foreign policy of showing strength through example rather than the gun

  3. James "turbo" Cohen September 12, 2010 19:44 pm

I felt safer when everybody knew Reagan had his finger ready to hit the button. Peace through superior firepower.

  4. Amit September 12, 2010 20:15 pm

if Reagan has his finger on a trigger, what do you think the Russians had?

    “Peace through Tyranny” -Megatron

  5. John Jackson September 12, 2010 20:25 pm

    “Peace through Appeasement”

Worked well during WWII and it’s working all-so-well now

  6. Amit September 12, 2010 20:32 pm

@John, what “peace” and what “appeasement” are you referring to? perhaps those sanctions that are working so well against Iran and North Korea

  7. John Jackson September 12, 2010 20:48 pm

Nope! Talking about the war we’re fighting in our own back yard, Ft Hood, Underwear and Times Square Bomber.

Iran and North Korea’s sanctions of appeasement to the UN, which is another joke.

Appeasement in the name of making ourselves look good to the rest of the world when they’re smacking us in the face anyway.

…no let me correct that, the Democrats are doing it. They’re jokes too.

  8. Amit September 12, 2010 20:53 pm

@John, I’m not following. what have we done to appease the Ft. Hood, Underwear and Times Square bombers? atleast in 2 of those cases, our foreign policy (i.e. firing missiles into villages) was the justification given for the attacks.

  9. John Jackson September 12, 2010 21:11 pm

Not hearing much from Iraq, are ya?

Meanwhile we’re placating to Muslims…whoever they may be. Gave in the hostage situation from the Imam Weasal and his threats of violence if his Victory Mosque doesn’t get built.

There should’ve been a Quran burning this weekend…but that was stopped by Imam Robert Gates.

Sometimes, I don’t know whether I agree with “turbo” or not. Can’t make heads or tells what he’s talking about. But on this one, it looks like ole Obama is Jimmy Carter on steroids. Complete disaster. Reagan kicks ass!

  10. Amit September 12, 2010 21:40 pm

@John, I heard 4,300 US soldiers never returned from Iraq. That is the “peace” you are championing?

and obviously you don’t understand the basics of action and reactions. guess you wouldn’t do anything if folks burned a bunch of bibles wrapped in American flags. I’m guessing you would stoop to their level because you believe in an “eye for an eye”

  11. James "turbo" Cohen September 12, 2010 21:57 pm

Amit, read the constitution lately? Folks in torch bibles and the stars & stripes constantly. If you are trying to make a point, don’t hold back.. If you are trying to say something, say it.

  12. John Jackson September 12, 2010 22:27 pm

For years, I’ve had to watch liberals and people like you (not sure how to describe you) burn flags and bibles, so don’t give me any damn “what would you do” crap.

Please explain action and reaction to me. I guess that’s what they taught ya at UVA or is that your favorite sports team? Here’s the basics of action/reaction. We act, they react, doesn’t take a semester to figure that out and I save ya money. Hopefully, you didn’t waste good money to figure that out.

I bet your a Keynesian Economics believer? You go buddy.

Let’s see, 4,300 for a war that we’ve been fighting for over 20 years. But you forgot to mention liberating Kuwait, stopping the invasion of Saudi, the numberous games with UN inspectors or the worst environmental (OIL) disaster known to mankind. How that must’ve slipped your mind or was that something that they didn’t teach in your indoctrination course. Oh, I guess the Iraq War was our fault too. Damn, we, Americans can’t get anything right…

“stoop to their level.” Are you running on all cylinders? These people want us dead, what part of dead don’t you understand? By taking this so-called high road, they’ll have us stooping to the level of six feet under.

  13. Amit September 12, 2010 23:20 pm

@turbo, yes, I’ve read the Constitution many times. what’s the point you’re trying to make? my point is simple: you want America to prosper then have the govt do less, and that includes doing less overseas.

@John, sorry that I’m not a socialist neocon republican but rather one who believes in free markets and civil liberties. and yes, the Iraq War was our fault. did you completely tune out during the WMD debacle? Seriously take a time out and listen to yourself.

  14. John Jackson September 13, 2010 00:09 am

I recall you stated once “Unfortunately, I think many folks have a very selective view of history and current events.”

How convenient that your history of the Iraq War starts in 2003. Again, you must not understand the history of Iraq War.

  15. Amit September 13, 2010 07:31 am

so where would you mark the beginning of the Iraq War? the invasion of Kuwait or even before that? so in 20 years we killed a tyrant and his sons. if you had to, would you do it again the same way?

  16. James Hawkins September 13, 2010 08:39 am

Thanks for posting the entire Stewart-Kaine “discussion”

Amit, would it be fair to consider you a “Ron Paul” libertarian ?

  17. shades011 September 13, 2010 13:25 pm

I really enjoyed the way Jon Stewart took Tim Kaine’s butt to the woodshed. He little cute “Don’t Give Them Back the Keys” key ring was a nice touch … not. What should one expect from a former Governor who wanted to bring down Virginia’s deficit by closing Rest Areas on the Commonwealth’s Interstate roads?

  18. James "turbo" Cohen September 13, 2010 18:12 pm

Amit, 550 tons of yellow cake, generations of Kurds gassed to death.. No WMD’s my ass. We went back because they had them and demonstrated they would use them. And there was plenty of risk that al quaida would aquire them and wipe Israel off the map.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/07/the_550_tons_of_yellowcake.html

Warning for sensitive viewers, this is real and it is harsh.. Iraqi Kurds “Never Forget” incident and this is not propaganda Amit

  19. Amit September 13, 2010 20:57 pm

@Hawkins, yes, if there is such a thing I would call myself a Ron Paul libertarian.

@turbo, how did the Iraqis get the gas to kill the Kurds?
