I personally think it is rather silly to have DMV open on Labor Day weekend, when I doubt few if any people will be excited about going to the offices where the rudest of rude public employees "work." (Work at being rude, that is.) It is poetic justice, however, that they of all state employees are being so inconvenienced. This is the first time about two years that anyone can actually go to DMV to renew their driver's license. What progress!

Now, if we could only do something about the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Richmond--what a nightmare.

Ah yes, and I guess Rigell will no longer qualify as your hero because he and his company participated in the Cash for Clunkers program to the tune of some $500,000.

I know, Mike. You can't even build a building without a six-figure government "incentive" that is awarded after your building was already built.

Yes Brian, of course you can. Th fact that the CBO recently opined that without the stimulus, the unemployment rate would be double what it is today has apparently avoided your notice. Perhaps you have failed to note that american companies are in great shape, that earnings are rising, that they are creating new jobs, and that the economy is growing nicely, instead of collapsing as it did under the last republican period of governance. Now, instead of worrying about protecting our net worth from wall street greed, we can once again invest with confidence in companies that are properly regulated. Another republican contol of Congress? No thanks, I can't afford it.

Mike, the public sector jobs that were reported lost, were temporary census workers. I read the Labor Dept. article as well. If you want to argue a position, do it with the facts.

Mike, with Obama's giant national unemployment numbers still rising to 9.6%, I can't see why people with a job would complain about working.

If working is such an inconvenience for them, I can recommend a solution.

The stress and strain of the budget cuts mean public employees are feeling particularly unappreciated by this administration. Not only must they endure job loss of their cohorts, but now they must work on a Saturday. Frankly, if your work is appreciated, I have found public employees will work as hard as anyone; but when their jobs are considered to be unimportant, they react like any employee whose work is unappreciated.

Mike, are you so obsessed with trashing anti-tax, limited government Republicans that you can't even comment on the topic at hand?

What does your comment have to do with DMV being open this weekend?

Ironic given the statistics announced by the Labor Department. While the private sector added jobs, the public sector actually lost jobs, so the overall unemployment rate went up. Thank you Governor McDonnell and your cohorts in the House of Delegates.

By cutting support to local government, you caused the loss of jobs that actually helped depress the national unemployment statistics. Now I know to you that is a source of pride, but to the teachers, policeman, sheriffs, counselors, human service aids, fireman, workers in parks and recreation, perhaps they don't like sponsoring your appearances on Fox.
