Obama Song – Vacation’s all I ever wanted
By Brian Kirwin | Sunday, May 30th, 2010 | PolicyPresident Barack Obama has dished off the laying of the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to VP Joe Biden.
Obama’s in Illinois and can’t be bothered. And that little oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico? He’s working very hard on that, I’m sure. I mean, he had a press conference. What’s a President to do?
When we had that attempted terrorist attack over Detroit, Obama was hitting the Hawaii waves.
Memorial Day Presidential traditions? Massive oil spills? Don’t bother, Barack.
So, in honor, a new song! “Vacation” adapted from the GO-GOs
Can’t seem to figure out what to do
I sit at home like George W.
Now that I am the Prez
It’s such a mess
Tomorrow’s a day I’ll hand off to Joe BidenWhen the oil spilled, I should have run
But I had already planned fun
Don’t know what to do
And I have no clue
I should’ve known, should’ve brought a teleprompterA week without me
Thought they’d forget
Two weeks without me
and the problem still hasn’t fixed itself yetVacation
All I ever wanted
Vacation
for Memorial Day
Vacation
How did I get this job?

You do realize that Bush 41 NEVER went to Arlington on Memorial Day, and the Reagan skipped it at least three times in eight years ?
Obama’s going to be a ceremony at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Monday morning.
All due respect, but this is just a dumb issue
But a great song
Well, that’s true
As a veteran, I don’t think a President has to go to Arlington on Memorial Day. Just as long as there is a an appropriate method of remembrance. Looks like his chosen venue is okay. I don’t know about in Arlington, but Reagan’s speech at Normandy (on D-day anniversary) was exceptional and certainly honored the fallen.
As a Veteran who was able to participate as a member of the battle fleet that went to Northern Europe to mark the 50th anniversary of the Normandy Anniversary…
Every time Bill Clinton addressed the crew of my ship, the ship he road on, the USS George Washington, the crew gave him thunderous applause. I was there and I saw it in person!
