Specter forgets he’s a Democrat
By Brian Kirwin | Thursday, May 13th, 2010 | PoliticsFirst lesson for a Democrat in a primary: Don’t thank the Allegheny County Republicans for an endorsement given by the Allegheny County Democrats.
The first time Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) slipped up here Tuesday night at the Allegheny County Democratic Committee’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, most in the audience pretended not to notice.
But at the end of his remarks when Specter again thanked the “the Allegheny County Republicans” for their endorsement, many couldn’t help but laugh nervously and shoot did-he-really-just-say-that looks at each other. (Politico)

Some guys will do anything and be anything to get elected. But he who stands for everything, stands for nothing.
Didn’t he say, when switching teams last year, something to the effect of “I’m not going to let the voters of Pennsylvania determine my political future”??
Maybe he knows something that we don’t know…
Brian,
Pennsylvania will be Pennsylvania.
Hey, cut the guys some slack. Do you think it’s easy to betray the principles of a lifetime for political expediency? As Virgil Goode, it takes some getting used to….oh, never mind, Virgil didn’t have any principles to start with… um, ask Phil Gramm.
