Non-Political: Chesapeake, VA Fun Forest #1 in Contest to Win Sears $30k Giveaway
By | Monday, May 3rd, 2010 | Catch-All

For those of you in the Hampton Roads area, you’ve probably heard about the recent arson that destroyed the majority of the Chesapeake, VA playground Fun Forest that was built by volunteers. Fun Forest was submitted as a contestant for the Sears contest “More Green Across America” which promises $30,000 to build or rebuild a park.

With two days left in the contest, Fun Forest is far and away the leading vote getter, with nearly 60k votes. The second place park is currently at 28k.

Great news for the city of Chesapeake and kids around the Hampton Roads area if this pace stays true.

If you’d like to vote, check out the Sears contest website and help out!
