Third Republican running for Sam Nixon’s House seat
By JR Hoeft | Monday, April 26th, 2010 | PoliticsThe Republican field in the 27th House of Delegates, the seat vacated when Sam Nixon went on to become the state’s chief information officer, is getting a bit more crowded as a third candidate, Brian Sullivan, enters the race.
“Getting people back to work and bringing more business into our area is my top priority,” wrote Sullivan in a statement. “I will consistently strive to make sure that Chesterfield County remains open for business for companies of all sizes in order to bring jobs for the hardworking and dedicated citizens whom I am honored to call my friends and neighbors.”
Sullivan, a 2007 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth who works for LifeHealthNet – a non-profit organization dedicated to organ and tissue donation, joins Roxann Robinson and Sherman Litton in seeking the nomination.
The special election to fill the vacancy will be held June 15.
