Del. LeMunyon discusses his proposal for a constitutional convention on Neil Cavuto
By Alan Moore | Friday, April 16th, 2010 | PolicyIf you read the last issue of the Bearing Drift E-Zine then you saw a report on the bill proposed by Delegate James LeMunyon (R-Fairfax) to call for an Article V constitutional convention. LeMunyon followed that interview up with an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal.
Now, LeMunyon has appeared on Fox News the to discuss his proposal.
As I thought back in January, this issue has a chance to gain some momentum in the near future.

I like the idea of a Constitional Convention to restore Federalism. We would have to keep Congressmen out. And we would have to keep out any nonsense that should be resolved by the individual states. The big fear is that rather than Constitionalists being in the majority, that progressives would end up in the majority. That would probably depend on the make up of the state legislatures. I would almost like to see two conventions, one for Constitutionalists and one for progressives. Let each propose their amendments and may the debate begin! But I suppose that would be fraught with danger and not very realistic.
Ooooh, great idea! Let’s breathe life into a totally unpredictable process that just might blow the Constitution into teensy-weensy little pieces if enough nutballs get together.
Stupid-ass idea.

Get a clue, dude. The constitution is already blown “into teensy-weensy little pieces.” Apparently enough nutballs ALREADY got together!
