Felon Voting Rights: Tim Kaine didn’t get the Dave Mills Memo
By | Tuesday, April 13th, 2010 | Policy

Virginia Democratic Party Executive Director, Dave Mills said, “Governor McDonnell should immediately remove this costly and burdensome barrier for non-violent offenders to renew their voting and 2nd Amendment rights.”

Okay, first Mills is wrong about the 2nd Amendment rights. That’s not included.

But listen to what his boss, DNC Chair and Former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine had to say.

A felon to write down what a he/she has done, what they have learned and what they have done to contribute to society is the least they can do. I am sure the victims they hurt would believe this is a minor requirement. I often had my children write down what they had done, what is the right thing to do and what they are going to do from now on to make sure they would not do the same offense again. It makes them think about what kind of person they want to be. To think about character is a good thing.
