Give’em Hell Ken!
Exclusive podcast with the AG soon. Waiting on Rep. Wittman from the Capitol.
HERE, HERE LEE! I 2nd, 3rd and 4th that sentiment! All those hours of phone calls and knocking on doors have paid off in having this man as our Attorney General! Go Get UM!
Thank God for Ken and thank God we are Virginians!!! There is always hope. While some things in the bill were good, (being able to keep your children on your insurance longer, not charging women more and allowing preexisting conditions, especially for children), the massive government takeover has already proven to be a failure everywhere it has been tried. And to bulldoze this legislation against the approval of the majority of the American people is unconscionable.
I hope they stuff his case where it belongs and make him and Virginia look like fools…
@William Bailey, Virginia and 37 other states?

Yeah, Ken, you go girl!
What is the point of such a quixotic endeavor? Both Republicans and Democrats have, for so long, completely ignored our Constitution, why should any Court entertain arguments calling for constraints on the federal government at this late juncture?
Given that Bush suspended portions of our Constitution so that he could imprison our citizens without trial, torture some and murder others, it is ludicrous to take serious any claims by Republicans that they are fighting to preserve our liberty. All that they are fighting for is the interests of their multinational corporate owners.
They don’t give a damn about the American people.
Yes, I guess that in some respects, I hope the AG pursues his windmill, because he is the elected official version of those tea party members who hurl invective, disrupt legislative bodies by screaming, and show themselves to be so angry they can’t think straight. But I too am a Virginian, and the actions of the AG are repulsive to me, and reveal that he considers himself to be the AG of those who suported him, but not the AG of Virginia. Most elected statewide leaders know the difference between a candidate and an elected official; not him.
Well folks I hate to say it but this bill isn’t ever going to be repealed. Yes I believe Ken C. will win on the mandate issue, that has huge Constitutional bearings. We need to start coming up with campaign issues to fix the bill to offer a plan an alternative. We must step out of the “NO” box the libs and their media put us in and show leadership.
This bill has great ideas but piss poor implementation of them. Lets keep the good and fix the bad. Its the only way to succeed. If we give the Dems 9 months of NO NO NO we will not win in November. Anger will fade but good ideas and leadership never does. Now is the time for us as Republicans to show Leadership and our Big Ideas!
Here we go, Drudge has a link up – making national news: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSN2219276420100322
“I hope they stuff his case where it belongs and make him and Virginia look like fools…” – William Bailey hoping Virginia looks like fools and something gets stuffed somewhere
“Yeah, Ken, you go girl!” -Gill Robb showing such maturity…
“why should any Court entertain arguments calling for constraints on the federal government at this late juncture?” – Gill suggesting that we should just give up on the rule of law and do anything the Far Left wants just because.
“Given that Bush suspended portions of our Constitution so that he could imprison our citizens without trial, torture some and murder others, it is ludicrous to take serious any claims by Republicans that they are fighting to preserve our liberty.” – Gill suggesting that all Republicans are just like Bush, therefore all Republicans are just posers on the Liberty issue. Well, at least you finally acknowledge it is a liberty issue.
“I hope the AG pursues his windmill, because he is the elected official version of those tea party members who hurl invective, disrupt legislative bodies by screaming, and show themselves to be so angry they can’t think straight. “- Mike Barrett, pretending he didn’t read the above and that Democrats don’t use invectives or get so darn mad they can’t think straight.
“he considers himself to be the AG of those who suported him, but not the AG of Virginia. Most elected statewide leaders know the difference between a candidate and an elected official; not him.” – Mike Bailey hurling an accusation that Cuccinelli could care less for Virginians that don’t support him. He speaks of “representation” and how Republicans like Cuccinelli don’t do it, yet it was the Democrats currently in power that forced this bill on us despite knowing the majority of Americans are opposed to it and take time out of the day to march on the streets about it.
“This bill has great ideas but piss poor implementation of them. Lets keep the good and fix the bad. Its the only way to succeed. If we give the Dems 9 months of NO NO NO we will not win in November. Anger will fade but good ideas and leadership never does. Now is the time for us as Republicans to show Leadership and our Big Ideas!” – Lee Tally, offering a pretty good assessment.
Lee is right. More needs to be done beside pointing out the obvious dangers this bill is filled with.
WOW Brit Howard and I are agreeing. It’s a good day. Let’s take the fight with ideas not this “Repeal the Bill” crap. Won’t work kids.
As a fan of the real Superman, I object to the graphic. Unless Cuccinelli is our world’s equivalent of Bizarro. Superman, the champion of “truth, justice and the American way” would be for health care reform. But, I’m sure the Tea Party folks will point out he was an illegal alien.
This state is screwed. AG makes ass of himself time, and time, and time once more. I swear, it’s like watching a carnival in your back yard.
I can’t believe the backlash against policy that would essentially protect and strengthen the American citizenry. Oh, and also reduce the deficit but no matter we simply HATE it and cry “THANK THE LORD” that I live in Virginia.
But no, you’d rather bang on drums and live in caves and just hope that your employer covers you or you are SCREWED. Do not expect me to follow or to vote for this guy again because he has made us look like the most selfish, backwoods, knuckle dragging, homophobic state in the USA. Thanks, Ken! The GOP had better wise up and wise up quick, as the Tea Party is dividing this “cave” view. If you follow them, you run the risk of losing the light as that cave can get pretty deep. (A lot of people are already lost in there.)
Virginia — no homosexuals, women’s rights or healthcare. Or bars. Damn, this state is so backwards that we have don’t even have bars! Now that is a BIBLICAL SIN! Or smoking anywhere indoors… and yet you complain about liberties being stripped through this bill?
Look, Obama got this passed because he knows the kinds of people that need this help. He focused on them, and let the rest fall into place. Good on him and shame on anyone who falls for fear tactics and hatred. Are we not all Americans here?
Ken is really going overboard in showing his idiocy this time.
Gee, Eng… with haters like you who have an idiot savant capacity of immediate recall of an entire library of names and epithets, why does the AG need voters? He might as well find the nearest “death panel” for “selfish, backwoods, knuckle dragging, homophobic” “cavemen” and get it over with.
Maybe you should break the law and smoke and drink to the point of where you can function with just half a brain instead of that massive powerhouse of an intellect that keeps spewing idiocy.
Or you could move to North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, DC, or Maryland and throw rocks over the state lines into Virginia in hopes that you might hit a Republican/Tea Party/Conservative member with a wild throw.
Actually Mr. Vaughan, while Superman did come here as an alien, he was orphaned and adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent and raised as an American.
And yes, he was the defender of “truth, justice and the American way” and might have been for health care reform, but not for what was rammed through in Washington last night. Rather, Superman would understand that the “American way” would involve following the U.S. Constitution.
Mr. Smythe: A duly-elected majority of the U.S. Congess and the president are doing exactly what they said they’d do when elected. That sounds like “the American Way to me.”
And you’ve got to wonder about the legality of that adoption by the Kents:-)
