Ad critical of the EPA to run in VA
By | Friday, February 26th, 2010 | Policy

The Coalition for American Jobs – an organization dedicated to informing the public about Environmental Protection Agency shenanigans – has started running an ad in eight states, including Virginia, about the latest end-around that the EPA is attempting.

As early as March 2010, the EPA plans to issue new rules regulating greenhouse gases from new cars and light trucks. Once established, provisions in the Clean Air Act requires further regulation of as many as six million American industrial facilities, power plants, hospitals, small businesses and commercial establishments, known as “stationary sources.”

Their concern is that members of Congress–and not EPA regulatory officers acting alone and without oversight–should be the ones who should be in the driver’s seat when it comes to developing policies that are more sweeping and significant than we’ve seen in generations.

So, what do you think of the ad? Does it work? Does it tell the story? Does any of this make sense?

Do you know anything about the “Coalition for American Jobs”? Seems to have been formed exclusively to run this ad. Doesn’t seem shady at all to you?

Greenhouse gasses are just one aspect where EPA has expanded it’s authority into business, commercial and our personal lives. Wait until Bob McDonnell has to get the Environmental Impact Statement for offshore energy development past the “EPA regulatory officers acting alone and without oversight”. This may come down to another one of those 10th Amendment showdowns between the Feds and Virginia.
