    errybody vote Scott Taylor

  3. Kathy Mateer February 23, 2010 23:41 pm

    Move over American Idol!!

  4. OduConservative February 24, 2010 00:03 am

Kinda funny how the kid claims how he has Scott Taylor has a Masters from ODU. Seems like we see a lot of claims for some campaigns

  5. Bryan R February 24, 2010 11:20 am

    That was a bit disturbing

  6. Reid S. February 24, 2010 12:59 pm

    Hahahaha

  7. Tim J February 24, 2010 13:10 pm

Wow, with an endorsement like this, who needs voters?

  8. Logical Conservative February 24, 2010 15:10 pm

Yikes! That was kind of funny (and definitely brave!), but I’m not sure I’d want to publicize it. I’m no political expert, but in the business world, you definitely don’t give your competitors free advertising. Instead, you define your own message. Mentioning another candidate (here, Scott Rigell), especially at the beginning, makes it appear that Rigell is the frontrunner (it is human nature to go after the frontrunner). It also makes people curious about the person being bashed since “there must be something interesting about that other person” if the first person is going after him/her. Also, what does “Scott Rigell is about to be out back for sure” mean? Out back in the wood shed? That is so NOT congressional. Candidates, please stick to your own message and don’t bash the other candidates. It just makes you look bad. Remember that the cream always rises to the top.

  9. Alexis February 24, 2010 16:16 pm

ODU Conservative: If you’re saying what I think you’re saying I would like to piggy-back on that. Scott Taylor has an unaccredited graduate certificate from ODU with no undergraduate education. Another interesting aspect of the rap is that this information is put into the same context with “Scott Taylor doesn’t lie.”

  10. D.J. Spiker February 24, 2010 16:30 pm

    Logical,

This message was not produced, affiliated or representative of the campaign. This was simply an enthusiastic supporter.

  11. girlyamber February 24, 2010 16:50 pm

This was a funny video guys. Alexis, keep hating until you fade away. You were the same profile posting on Taylor’s Facebook page. The Taylor campaign found out your profile, pics, and name were completely fake. Interesting how you claim that you attended ODU, but nobody with your name Alexis Arlington has ever attended ODU. Go away.

  12. Alexis February 24, 2010 16:59 pm

Girlyamber: Which profile did you check on Facebook? The one that was allowed to post on Taylor’s page? Yes, that one was fake because he blocked my real profile after I confronted him about his false claims of graduating from ODU and the false endorsements.

I am enrolled at ODU now, and Alexis is a nickname. Check under Mr. Taylor’s blocked profiles, both on his personal as well as political page.

  13. Kirk February 24, 2010 17:47 pm

I went ahead and double checked your math “Alexis”, nobody, not one person at ODU now has the last name “Arlington”. There are searchable directories that are open to the public. http://www.odu.edu/apps/directory/index.php?__Click=0&SEARCH_IND=A&F_NAME=&L_NAME=Arlington

So “Alexis” and “Arlington” are both nicknames?

All you do is make EVERYONE look bad by doing this. STOP!

  14. Alexis February 24, 2010 18:05 pm

Kirk, contact me directly and don’t post my personal information online. Both Mr. Hoeft and Mr. Taylor know how to get a hold of me.

  15. Alexis February 24, 2010 18:13 pm

Or should I say “Kirk Weldon” contact me directly.

  16. Kirk February 24, 2010 18:15 pm

That’s not personal information, that’s public information from a public University.

Do they know how to get ahold of “Alexis Arlington” or your real name?

It seems that you are vindictive enough to try and play both Mr.Taylor and Mr.Hoeft. I have met both of those men and your allegations seem not only angry and deceitful, but completely un-neccesary in a race that is supposed to help the Republican party, not spit in its face. Like I said, just STOP and nobody will say a word.

  17. Kirk February 24, 2010 18:17 pm

    That is my name…

  18. Alexis February 24, 2010 18:26 pm

Kirk, you and I have met many times on many different levels. Do you want me mentioning that on here? Email me. Or heck, I’m sure you still have my number. Call me.

  19. ryan February 24, 2010 19:03 pm

naw dj skippy is scotts student cordinator at tcc and he rocks! skippy for congress!

  20. OduConservative February 24, 2010 20:20 pm

The video is on the main website. SO that would imply that the message has been improved.

  21. Katie February 24, 2010 21:17 pm

Scott Taylor blocked me for no reason whatsoever, for asking questions about his political platform (which is very vague as you can see by his website) and his megachurch. If the Republicans were allowed to criticize Barack Obama’s pastor and beliefs, I don’t see why I can’t question Scott about his. His pastor Steve Kelly (mod edit), the (WAVE Church) LED sign is ugly, and him bragging about his boat after a sermon full of requests for money is appalling. By the way he has a helicopter. http://hamptonroads.com/2008/08/beach-church-cannot-use-chopper-ferry-pastor-city-says

  22. Katie February 24, 2010 21:19 pm

(moderators note) I’ve deleted the unsubstantiated comment or email forwarded and posted, everything contained within is unverifiable and therefore hearsay

  23. Ben February 24, 2010 21:25 pm

    Alexis-

Please show some respect. Taylor doesn’t have “an unaccredited graduate certificate from ODU”. He has a Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from ODU’s College of Business & Public Administration. In order to participate in the program, a bachelor’s degree is needed.

However, “Someone without a degree but with significant government contracting experience should speak with the program director to determine if a waiver can be granted.”

Obviously, ODU felt that Taylor’s experience as a Navy SEAL was adequate enough to make up for his lack of an undergraduate degree. It’s a shame that elitists like you can’t look past his lack of “formal” education.

Also, you’d know this if you did your research. Here’s all the information you need to know. http://www.execed-odu.com/gov2008.htm

  24. jared February 24, 2010 21:25 pm

    Katie,
Why don’t you email Mr. Taylor via his website, http://www.scotttaylorforcongress.com, instead of spewing immature comments about his church. You hurt your credibility. Mr. Taylor is certainly someone who speaks his mind. Just about everyone on this blog know this. Pretty heavy accusations with zero proof about a Pastor.

  25. Katie February 24, 2010 21:31 pm

I used to go to the church, how else would I know? and as I said, I HAVE EMAILED HIM, he does not respond. Also, I overheard Scott tell a lady that he’s “a democrat at heart” (Starbucks on Shore Dr. 2008, before VB mayor election) somebody explain that remark to me.

  26. Austin February 24, 2010 21:43 pm

All the claims made on this post are hearsay and only on a blog would unsubstantiated rumors be given such a platform.

JR… as moderator of this blog, I would request that you remove those portions of the above comments that can be considered “personal attacks” with no proof; as you have done many times when allegations have been brought against Scott Rigell for the same misconduct. At those times, no proof was offered, as it is now. I expect the same diligence to be paid to each of our republican candidates. However, if there is proof that justifies this hate, please post it. If not, delete the above posts.

  27. jared February 24, 2010 21:51 pm

What a repulsive post by an internet coward. This is the same message that went out on Xmas morning by this coward and the same message as John Smith. Mr. Taylor is very easy to find, but of course this coward sending out false messages by two different names doesn’t confront him. He sends it out to his facebook supporters. Katie, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting this putrid message even if you are a democrat. If this fool had proof he would have shown it to the many folks who requested it at Xmas time. Coward

  28. Robyn February 24, 2010 22:16 pm

Katie, this is really over the top. Clearly, the post that you posted above from a Mr. Mitter is a bunch of crap. The letter says that he won’t allow Taylor to destroy his political party, I doubt that would be on his mind if his wife had an affair. It is so obvious this is an attempt to discredit Taylor with false allegations. IT WON’T WORK. Anyone that has ever met Scott knows he is a man of honor, dignity, and integrity. He is a natural born leader. He has been all of his life. Scott Taylor is not dishonest. Look at most of Scott’s donations, they are from his fellow SEALS. This ridiculous attempt to discredit Taylor is probably offensive to any SEAL. If this was a real situation, every SEAL I know certainly wouldn’t go around posting letters with alias’ and sending them out to people. They would confront the person directly. Of course Scott Taylor has no idea who Mr. Mitter is or his WIFE because IT ISN’T true!! Stop spreading lies!! And to post things about people’s faith, you should be ashamed of yourself. You are the reason politics turn so many people off. Katie, we can’t even discuss the issues because people like you post this bs to stir things up and people can’t even focus on the real issues.

  29. Robyn February 24, 2010 22:19 pm

Katie, you say you were blocked for no reason at all. Do you know how dumb that makes you look? Look at all the people on Taylor’s page, it’s obvious you wouldn’t get blocked for no reason.

  30. Kirk February 24, 2010 22:22 pm

Haha this got really weird really fast. I was only interested in the”freestyle rap” video to begin with. I now remove myself from any and all political blogs ever as I am not a very political person. I want to know how I know “Alexis” and I would like to say that Scott Taylor is a great guy and I hope the race shapes up well.

  31. Katie February 24, 2010 22:24 pm

Robyn, you commented on one of my other posts and it made no sense at all. Do us all a favor and just stay out of it. You really have no idea what is going on, and you have a track record of consistently missing the point. Ask Mr. Taylor why he blocked me, I want to know. Tell him to send me a reason why. He knows how to contact me.

  32. Robyn February 24, 2010 22:24 pm

And Skippy, great job on the rap!! It’s great to see someone use their energy for something positive.

  33. JR Hoeft February 24, 2010 22:25 pm

This is a warning to all commenters:

    http://bearingdrift.com/2010/02/24/dont-make-me-moderate-comments/

    And, Austin…don’t lecture me.

  34. Robyn February 24, 2010 22:35 pm

Katie, what point did I miss?? Please clarify for me. It’s interesting that you say I have no idea what is going on. I see Scott Taylor just about everyday, so I’m sure that I do.

  35. Katie February 24, 2010 22:44 pm

This is an issue between me and Mr. Taylor. When he decides to respond back to me I want to know what he meant when he said he was a democrat at heart, and I would also like to know what was up with his facial expressions while Ben Loyola was speaking in the Bearing Drift Republican Debate on the 22nd. See the last 15 minutes or so of it if you don’t know what I mean.

  36. Zach February 24, 2010 22:48 pm

    Scott Taylor for Congress
None of these remarks about Scott hold any truth. He was raised better than that. He learned from a very young age that having affairs and cheating on your wife are wrong. .

Please stop saying these untruthful remarks about Scott.

  37. Robyn February 24, 2010 22:52 pm

It stopped being an issue between you and Mr. Taylor when you posted all this false information online for everyone to see these lies.

  38. Katie February 24, 2010 22:56 pm

No, the issue will be over in November. And I did not discredit nor credit what was sent by Mr. Mitter.

  39. Confused February 24, 2010 23:03 pm

    Katie,

Maybe Scott Taylor hasn’t emailed you back because he has more important things going on. Sorry your feeling were hurt. Get over it.

    Skippy- the rap was cute.

  40. Gary February 24, 2010 23:44 pm

Wow…is it time for recess already?!?! Children please act your age and remember what Grandma told you..”If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all”.

Hypocrisy=speaking about someone in a negative fashion whom you believe(or maybe not) has spoken bad about someone else in a negative fashion(through an unaffliated third party). LOL

  41. Really? February 25, 2010 00:34 am

i guess it’s cool to “freestyle” with lyrics at your side. that’s whats up!
    jeez.
    i like the creativity though.
but really- what does him having a job at 13 have to do with him deserving a seat in the house?

  42. J.M. Ripley February 25, 2010 09:21 am

“Please show some respect. Taylor doesn’t have “an unaccredited graduate certificate from ODU”. He has a Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from ODU’s College of Business & Public Administration. In order to participate in the program, a bachelor’s degree is needed”.

According to Taylor’s website http://scotttaylorforcongress.com/about.html , it states that he studied government contracting at ODU, not that he actually received the Master’s Certificate. Maybe you need to re-check your facts before you post. If I were running for public office I would STATE what degree I earned and from where. Since Scott does not say that on his website, a logical person would conclude that he did not receive the degree/certificate.

Yes you are correct that a bachelor’s degree is required to be accepted into the program (Admission to the Master’s Certificate Program in Government Contracting will be available to any member of the DoD
AT&L workforce who holds a baccalaureate degree. This requirement may be waived if an individual can demonstrate relevant experience in government contracts, procurement and acquisition) http://www.edc-odu.com/gov2005des.htm.

I guess you would have to accept the premise that ODU considered Scott’s experience in the SEALS adequate enough to demonstrate relevant experience in government contracts, procurement and acquisition in order for him to claim that he studied “government contracting at ODU”.

  43. Tim J February 25, 2010 12:50 pm

So, does Scott Taylor have a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution? It isn’t clear on his campaign web site.

  44. Alexis February 25, 2010 20:56 pm

Again, he has an unaccredited graduate certificate and no undergraduate degree.

Thank you for the referencing websites. Anyone who has more questions can visit those sites listed above and obtain the same information that is below:

This degree program is not accredited through ODU and does not carry ODU’s accreditation standards. It is only accommodated through ODU in partnership with the DAU. The DAU is the Defense Acquisition University which carries no formal accreditation of its own. The DAU is the equivalent of ITT Tech; the credits you earn through these programs are non-transferrable and not recognized by any college or university besides the DAU.

  45. Richard Jenkins February 25, 2010 22:19 pm

Baseless accusations have no part in the GOP nomination process. Scott Taylor is showing tremendous resolve through these insinuations and inuendos. I’m supporting another candidate, but I have nothing but respect for Scott Taylor. This is the kind of crap that alienates potential GOP participation. It demotivates the voting public and it hurts the party at the polls. Whoever the nominee is we will need to come together to take out Glenn Nye. Good luck Scott in your run.

  46. OduConservative February 26, 2010 01:52 am

Dont bring up scot taylors church. theres nothing wrong with churches tghat dont allow woman preachers!

  47. girlyamber February 26, 2010 11:02 am

    ODU conservative,
I assume you are speaking about Scott Rigell’s church (that doesn’t allow female preachers) and not Taylor’s as Wave church does have a female preacher.

  48. Katie February 27, 2010 02:52 am

Wave is for drones. Say no to mega churches.

  49. Ben February 27, 2010 21:51 pm

Wow. Taylor’s getting hit on his “mega-church”? The lengths some people will go…

Is this really the best you guys can come up with to criticize him? That he’s a sexual deviant who comes from a mega-church? Haha. Please…

  50. Kathy Mateer February 27, 2010 23:15 pm

I’ve been pretty busy since my last blog of “Move over American Idol”. This was obviously a very enthusiastic supporter who entertained whoever saw the video. Anyone who knows Scott Taylor knows he is one of the most sincere, visionary persons of his generation. He is definitely a servant leader. He will go far in the Republican Party.

I am sad to see such vicious attacks on this blog against Scott Taylor. I know this venue is open to whoever wants to blog, however, please keep in mind the golden rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The truth is: what goes around comes around.
