Democrats flocking to McDonnell
By | Wednesday, January 27th, 2010 | Catch-All

I had no idea that Washington Democrats had become so unpopular that the DNC and DPVA would be clamoring to get tickets to the REPUBLICAN response to President Obama’s State of the Union. But, apparently that is indeed the case.

Politico reports
that the DNC is itchin’ to get in the audience, so much so that they have made a false claim that they weren’t invited.

“The Democratic leadership is being invited to the speech. And if they want to join us for the Republican Address to the Nation, in response to the remarks of the President, we would be honored to welcome them,” said [Tucker] Martin, [McDonnell's spokesman].

Then, BVBL writes that Dickie Cranwell (DPVA Chair) missed Bob McDonnell so much that he complained about the governor being gone for ONE EVENING IN DC! This compared, of course, to the 30% of the time that part-time Governor now Full-Time DNC Chair Tim Kaine was out of the state campaigning for Democrats. I guess Cranwell didn’t like Kaine as much.

Well I, for one, sure do hope to see Dickie Cranwell and Sen. Dick Saslaw and Del. Ward Armstrong in the assembly tonight behind McDonnell. It would be awesome to see them supporting our governor on the national stage as he gives the REPUBLICAN response!!!

McDonnell must feel awfully good about being so missed and sought after by Democrats. They’d rather gather to see McDonnell than watch the president’s address: now that’s true bipartisanship

And if Scott Brown joins him on stage for the event, maybe we will have a preview of the Republican President/Vice President Rock Stars for 2012?

After the nation sees Bob McDonnell tonight everyone will realize why Bob won by such a landslide. Intelligence, virtue and class personified.

It’s even funnier. McDonnell isn’t even going to DC. He’s staying in Richmond for it.

Do any of the responders ever go to DC? Jindal didn’t, Kaine didn’t, Sebelius didn’t. I can’t remember specifics from any of the other ones.

I thought McDonnell was a conservative Blue Dog Democrat?
