So, it’s really not about women’s health?
By Ward Smythe | Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | PolicyPlanned Parenthood has sent out an email alert urging their supporters to lobby against the passage of House Bill 393, introduced by Delegate Matthew Lohr of Harrisonburg.
Planned Parenthood says: This bill is a thinly disguised attempt to impose burdensome and unnecessary regulations on abortion providers so that the provision of services would become prohibitively expensive and thus out of reach for many women in Virginia.
But, here’s the full text of the bill:
Abortion clinics; licensure and regulation. Requires all abortion clinics, defined as any facility other than a hospital or an ambulatory surgery center in which 25 or more first trimester abortions are performed in any 12-month period, to be licensed and regulated by the Board of Health.
Abortion providers shouldn’t be licensed and regulated?
So much for “safe and legal.”

They don’t want to be licensed and regulated because they don’t ant people to know what goes on behind their closed doors. There are several women who have sued Planned Parenthood for health complications caused by Planned Parenthood abortions. Also, the grotesque procedures will become more public knowledge than Planned Parenthood would like. Planned Parenthood was founded by a eugenist who hated immigrants. Kudos to Matt Lohr for putting the pressure on this racist and bigoted organization.
Exit Question: If Planned Parenthood is on the up and up, why are they hiding?
