  2. johnnyb3 January 21, 2010 20:31 pm

SCOTT TAYLOR HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK TONIGHT!!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!!

  3. Citizen for Civility January 21, 2010 20:36 pm

    Lets trust Scott Rigell

  4. johnnyb3 January 21, 2010 20:41 pm

    Let’s trust Scott Taylor

  5. Citizen for Civility January 21, 2010 20:43 pm

Scott ‘s the victor! ; knows finance.
    Be weary Glenn Nye.
Positive campaign . Doesn’t divulge state secrets or drop names to gain the vote!

  6. Citizen for Civility January 21, 2010 20:44 pm

Scott doesn’t take vacations he takes missions!

  7. integrityinpolitics January 21, 2010 20:52 pm

Just got done watching the 2nd district debate streaming here. Thanks Bearing Drift. Well done.

I think both Scotts did the best tonight. Scott Rigell exceeded expectations and so did Scott Taylor.

With jobs and the economy as the #1 issue, I think Scott Rigell has a leg up as his experience creating jobs and building a business shines through in comparison to his opponents.

Additionally, he has what it takes to beat Glenn Nye.

  8. Citizen for Civility January 21, 2010 21:51 pm

Just want to go on record as stating my support for Scott Rigell. New to the blogging scene. Used only Scott’s first name in my posts. Maybe also a subliminal slip on my part as I feel there is only one legitimate candidate by the name of Scott!

  9. billy t January 21, 2010 23:21 pm

    Cfc,
The fact that you are on here saying that speaks volumes to the contrary. Stop “coakleying” the Republican ticket and hope that whoever comes out of this alive can defeat Nye.

  10. Govgirl January 21, 2010 23:47 pm

Just wondering why if Scott Taylor is such an illegitimate candidate as the Rigell people CONSTANTLY claim – why do they spend most of their time attacking him? Why not go after their “real” competition and leave Taylor alone? Actions speak louder than words . . .

  11. Bryan R January 21, 2010 23:47 pm

Saw the last half of it; really impressed, Rigell did a great job, especially the quote from the Holocaust survivor “I learned from the Holocaust that if someone says they want to kill you. – believe them.”
We all know that Iran wants to wipe out Israel, its time we recognize the threat.

I was rather curious about how things would go on the first debate, so I actually trekked out to the Eastern Shore. I was glad I went (especially because it wasn’t as far as I thought), although it was a bit bland. Almost all of the candidates could potentially do the job. And definitely any of them would be better than Nye, so that was no surprise. I was surprised, however, that several of the candidates appeared to take little swipes at Rigell. Ironically, doing so only hurts them because it just confirms that Rigell’s status as the frontrunner in the race – something that the other candidates seem to want to deny. 3 or 4 of the candidates, including Rigell, declined any personal swipes and instead stayed on the message. I really appreciate that in a candidate; in fact, I expect it. It lets us get to know you. We aren’t going to win back this seat from the Dems if our candidates tear each other apart. I’ll be very disappointed in any candidate who goes negative.

  13. Reid S. January 22, 2010 06:15 am

I agree with Logical Conservative. Swipes were taken at Rigell and he rose above it and did not do the same to any of his opponents. That is a what a leader does.

Rigell’s message was clear, conservative and strong. He has what it takes to beat Glenn Nye. We know where he stands and he has the resources, name ID, and community ties to actually beat an incumbent in the general.

The Rigell team is running a classy, top-notch, issues oriented campaign and that is what will win this race.

Thanks to Melody Scalley, The Eastern Shore GOP, Little Italy, and all of you for making last night a real treat for me. This was a lot of fun to do.

Later today, we’ll have audio highlights from the debate and my post-debate interviews with all the candidates except Maulbeck – who was not available.

  15. jared January 22, 2010 09:18 am

Interesting how the usual paid rigell supporters are on here commenting, After they got home from the debate of course. Sad. Readers know who you are.

  16. Laura January 22, 2010 09:42 am

It’s Rigell. It’s inevitable. Let’s all get on board and go take this seat back for the working families and conservative values.

The other guys are fine Americans but they don’t have the financial support or grassroots resources to mount credible campaigns.

We all know how this is going to play out, so let’s end the scrimmage and take on the other team together.

  17. jared January 22, 2010 10:07 am

Grassroots resources? Yes Rigell is sooooooo grassroots. I’m glad you and the Rigell campaign is so cocky. You can fall in line if you would like. Only someone from the campaign would make a cocky statement like that.

  18. Tim J January 22, 2010 11:12 am

jared, Rigell’s paid posse is all over this. Every one of those blog posts shows a common theme, squishy support that is cut and pasted off of a Rigell campaign talking point paper. If you walk through the parking lot at one of these events you will see lots and lots of new Freedom Motors badged Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Volvo vehicles. Maybe a quid pro quo for some of the love being shown here?

  19. Alexis January 23, 2010 14:47 pm

    Just listened to the feed.
Govgirl: It is not Rigell supporters who consistently claim Taylor is an illegitimate candidate. It is everyone. And the reason is because he lacks integrity. Politics is about integrity and Taylor has yet to display that through his constant white lies. I could only imagine what would surface if he wins the primary.
I have not chosen a side. I am not paid by Rigell. I drive a foreign car not bought here locally. Rigell won the debate hands down. (Though that Kenny Golden has quite a sense of humor!)

  20. jared January 23, 2010 16:44 pm

    Alexis,
Hmmm, 2 comments attacking Taylor. Maybe you haven’t picked a side (doubt it) You are just on here to attack Taylor. Integrity? Please, it’s obvious you do not know Taylor. That is the problem with blogs. “Everyone” is not saying Taylor is not legit, just you and paid Rigell staffers. We don’t know you Alexis, but a good many of people in the district do know Taylor and without integrity is not a word used to describe him.

  21. Alexis January 23, 2010 17:43 pm

    Jared:
The side I have picked is that of honesty. Which, so far, Mr. Taylor is the only one lacking. If you think Mr. Taylor is dawned with this integrity you speak of you can ask him exactly where he has mislead people. Tell him that I sent you to him as well. You are right, I have never been on Bearing Drift until I called out Mr. Taylor on his inaccuracies and he tried to cover them up. Someone noticing this sent me here. If Mr. Taylor is unwilling to share this information with you, you can contact me personally. Or simply wait a few weeks and an article will be on Bearing Drift shortly.

  22. JR Hoeft January 23, 2010 18:17 pm

An article will appear on Bearing Drift? News to me, as the managing editor and publisher. It had better be tripled-checked and verifiable (contributors – I’m looking at you).

If you post an accusation as a comment, Alexis – I will delete it.

  23. Ben January 24, 2010 12:42 pm

Seems like Alexis (alias = John Smith) has moved from attacked Taylor on Facebook to Bearing Drift. Interesting…

  24. Alexis January 29, 2010 19:18 pm

It is actually my graduate dissertation so of course it will be verifiable.

Mr. Hoeft, if you were so concerned about issues being verified that appeared on your “website” maybe you should contact all of the so-called endorsements Mr. Taylor claims to have received.

Hello! I just wanted to say that I like your entire posting style and that I want to check this blog regularly from now on ;-) Stay the best!
