Herrity to announce Wednesday
By | Monday, January 11th, 2010 | Politics

And then there were two. Herrity will likely challenge Fimian for the GOP nod in the 11th, as he is calling a press conference on Wednesday. Why else would he do it?

Three nomination fights in the 2nd, 5th, and 11th. Griffith going after Boucher in the 9th. Who said midterms were boring?

It is conceivable that the 5-6 GOP minority in the House delegation could flip to a 9-2 majority after November…

I don’t know if we would see that drastic a flip but in the 11th Herrity presents a credible challenge to Rep. Connolly. Herrity has both high name i.d. and popularity. He has great constituent service skills and his District makes up nearly 1/4 of the 11th Congressional District in general.

There are very few candidates that could give Rep. Connolly a real race and have a good shot at winning. Herrity is one of those few. In a recent poll, Herrity was within the margin of error in a hypothetical matchup between the two. Other candidates were 11 points behind. Pat getting in is good news for NoVa Republicans.
