Boucher to seek 15th-term
By JR Hoeft | Thursday, December 17th, 2009 | PoliticsThere was some thought that Rep. Rick Boucher (D-9th) would not seek to reach three decades of public service in Congress, but apparently, he will campaign at least one more time.
According to CQ Politics, Boucher, the 14-term incumbent, has let the Democratic Party know that he will seek re-election.
Among other things, Boucher chairs the House Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet. He’s working on expanding broadband into rural regions.
Del. Terry Kilgore (R-1) is a potential challenger to Boucher, but has not yet announced his intentions to run. He may have been waiting on Boucher’s decision.

I think Kilgore should run anyway – Boucher is vulnerable this year. He had to make a few of those walk the plank votes in the House and McDonnell won that district in a run away.
Kilgore would win a straight-up matchup against Boucher this year by a 55-45 margin. The Perfect Storm is converging and Boucher’s in danger.
I’m just happy that some conservatives have stepped up even though they are relatively unknown. People are suffering with these electricity rate hikes. Thank you Mr. Cap and Trader Boucher.
Boucher is number one on my list of Virginia politicians that need to be “retired” Even a Blue Dog Democrat would be a vast improvement. Actually almost any democrat would be an improvement. Party like its 1773
