Wagner advertises endorsement she didn’t get
By Brian Kirwin | Monday, October 26th, 2009 | Catch-AllWashington Post reports about Jody Wagner TV ads and says:
“One in Hampton Roads calls Wagner “Virginia Beach’s own” and mentions her endorsement by the Pilot editorial page” (WaPo 10-26-09)
Wagner didn’t get the endorsement. Problem!

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

WAPO UPDATE: A correction. The Hampton Roads version of this ad does NOT say Wagner has been endorsed by the Pilot–which has not yet made an endorsement in the lieutenant governor’s race. It merely says that Pilot has said that Wagner has “proven herself.” Our apologies.
The Washington Post was wrong? I can hardly believe it.
The Virginian-Pilot has chosen not to endorse either LG candidate. On yesterday’s editorial page they explained their reasons. Regarding why they wouldn’t endorse Wagner, it was because she wouldn’t commit to raising taxes like Deeds.
