Debate: Deeds Opposes Public Option; Immediately Denies Saying It
By | Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 | Politics

Deeds argued with himself again tonight; view the following exchanges in regards to the public option. Aftermath below…

Public Option isn’t Required!

No, I Didn’t Say That!

Creigh Deeds disastrous campaign took another potentially fatal blow tonight in the final gubernatorial debate, with the following exchange:

Question: “Mr. Deeds, and would you go against some of your fellow Democrats and against the public plan?”

Creigh Deeds: “I’m not afraid of going against my fellow Democrats when I think they’re wrong…Public option isn’t required in my view, I think we have to do two things with health care, we have to reduce costs so more people can afford insurance and we have to increase coverage. I share those broad goals. I don’t think the public option is necessary in any plan and I think Virginia…I would certainly consider opting out if that were available to Virginia. We have to find ways to increase competition in order to reduce costs…”

While I’m certainly against a public option, most assuredly the left is not. Especially those crucial votes that Deeds campaign plans to begin (yes, I know it’s October 21st) courting in Northern Virginia. For a Democratic candidate to not only go against a public option but call national Democrats out for it, Creigh Deeds managed to end his only shot at winning. As much as I enjoy picking on Joe Abbey and Mo Elleithee, this one was all Deeds, all by his lonesome.

His repeated negative and ill-effective attacks have alienated the independents who determine elections in the Commonwealth. Clearly Republicans are motivated behind Bob McDonnell. That leaves Democrats as Deeds only chance at winning. And how do they feel after Deeds performance tonight?

IS CREIGH DEEDS A SUICIDE BOMBER????

Just trying to take out as many Democrats on the ballot as he can?

UPDATE: Hey Creigh, F— You
..
Virginia Democrat
This exchange during tonight’s debate left me deflated…
..
Too Progressive
I’m NOT voting for Creigh Deeds

Brutal…

What a great week so far to be a Republican. And after the Obama/WaPo weekend, who thought that would be the case?

I noticed he used “on the table” again. Deeds wants everything to be settled by putting it on the table and discussing it.

If I thought Deeds had a chance of winning, I’d invest in table manufacturing futures, because we don’t have enough tables for all the table plans Creigh Deeds has.
