Jody Wagner: Preparing to lose?
By | Monday, October 19th, 2009 | Politics

Jeff Shapiro certainly floated the suggestion in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

“a special election in Virginia Beach for the seat of Republican Ken Stolle. He’s favored to win a contest there for sheriff.

Assuming she loses for lieutenant governor but is competitive in Stolle’s district, Democrat Jody Wagner could stand for the seat.”

There’s a good message going into the final two weeks of her campaign. Setting up a backup plan for when she loses to Bill Bolling.

So, if Jody Wagner loses for LG after losing for Congress, she becomes the Democrats’ choice to run a third time?

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

So I don’t know the Beach very well, what Repubs are up for this seat?

Sonny Stallings might have something to say about that…

    Chris -
It’s a competitive race between Jeff McWaters, a businessman, and Rosemary Wilson, a city councilwoman.
