how do u think Mccain’s visit/endorsement is going to effect Mcdonnell’s polls for Dem voters?
That’s not exactly a good thing, though. How many of those McDonnell results are negative compared to Deeds?
Yahoo – “bob mcdonnell” thesis – 316,000
Yahoo – mcdonnell thesis – 955,000
Yahoo – “creigh deeds” thesis – 31,700
Yahoo – deeds thesis – 2,000,000
Google – “bob mcdonnell” thesis – 65,200
Google – mcdonnell thesis – 746,000
Google – “creigh deeds” thesis – 27,600
Google – deeds thesis – 1,150,000
Bing – “bob mcdonnell” thesis – 57,400
Bing – mcdonnell thesis – 140,000
Bing – “creigh deeds” thesis – Deeds 39,500
Bing – deeds thesis – 682,000
AOL – “bob mcdonnell” thesis – 64,600
AOL – mcdonnell thesis – 744,000
AOL – “creigh deeds” thesis – 5,130
AOL – deeds thesis – 32,900
Admittedly, searching “deeds thesis” gets a lot of things having nothing to do with the Virginia gubernatorial race, but throw the thesis in the mix and the numbers start changing.
But not to be out done:
Google – “creigh deeds” unions – 66,900
Google – “creigh deeds” taxes – 126,000
Google – “creigh deeds” “raise taxes” – 9310
There are certainly a lot of other threads out there that could impact those results.
McDonnell has also had the luxury of 4 years in statewide office and subsequent stories and press releases to boost any numbers.
Still, it is interesting to look at the numbers, though looking deeper is a bit more interesting.
Jason,
True. My post is not necessarily written as a “wow, look at how much better McDonnell is doing”, just that he is the more talked about candidate.
t1lewis – I think the McCain endorsment for McDonnell is a good thing. For those independents who are suddenly having buyers remorse with Obama, it will serve as a reminder that a grounded alternative was available last year, and that McDonnell fits that same profile of character, intellect, and integrity.
