Gore to campaign for Deeds; Obama comes to Virginia
By | Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 | Politics

Pres. Barack Obama visited the Fairfax County Parkway Extension project today – Virginia’s largest transportation project under the federal stimulus plan – yet there was no Gov. Tim Kaine and no Sen. Creigh Deeds; they were as absent as their own transportation plans.

Deeds continues to push that he’ll come up with a plan, and tell us what it is, AFTER the election and Kaine has us ranked 51 of 51 states in getting projects started under the stimulus. No wonder they didn’t show up today.

But while Deeds couldn’t find time for Obama (or is it that Obama didn’t want Deeds around?), he will find the time to campaign with Al Gore at a private fundraiser in McLean.

Gore, who’s Mr. Cap-and-Trade, will come to Virginia reminding all of us about the inconvenient truth of how many jobs will be lost and how much energy prices will sky-rocket if the National Energy Tax is actually passed.

Ironically, the Deeds fundraiser will be held at a swanky, up-scale home in Northern Virginia. No word on how “green” or energy efficient this home is.

Of course, I’m now wondering when Pres. Jimmy Carter will campaign for Deeds…that way we can have another Nobel Prize winner in the state. After all, that award carries so much meaning now.

Al Gore? Deeds must need the money badly, because its not for votes that he is spending time with AlGore … this only days after calling McDonnell a liar for saying he (Deeds) supports Cap and Trade.
