Jody Wagner Continues to be Delusional
By | Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 | Politics

After years of financial mismanagement during her term of Secretary of Finance, Jody Wagner became the sacrificial lamb, chosen by the Democrats to face popular Lt Governor Bill Bolling in his race for reelection. Marred during her tenure for her wildly inaccurate financial predictions, Wagner stepped down as Secretary of Finance, leaving behind a legacy of fuzzy math, poor fiscal decisions and planning. Now, we add another superlative to Jody Wagner: LIAR

Jody’s new (and only) television ad was just released and her delusions continue. Not only does Wagner’s ad quote just one newspaper, but that particular article has NO mention of her name, is not about her in any way, and takes Dems to task for their continued financial mismanagement. In fact, here’s the sentence immediately before the quote in the ad:

To his discredit, the effort was required as a product of his (Wagner’s) predilection for overestimating revenues. More important, to his credit, the governor.. (ad begins) has balanced the budget without raising taxes. (end ad)
..
He repeatedly has ignored the ring of alarms sounded by Republicans over his revenue projections only to wipe egg from his face later. Kaine also has spent the last half of his term with eyes cast elsewhere, last year on helping pal Barack Obama take Virginia and win the presidency and this year on his duties as Democratic National Committee chairman.

Additionally, the ad says the article ran September 14th, 2009 when it in fact ran September 11th, 2009 (just got it wrong or lying to avoid the article?) You’ll note that this article ran months after Wagner stepped down.

Down 17 points with exactly four weeks to go, Wagner has little if any shot at winning, but destroying what shreds of her reputation are left will end any future hope she has in Virginian politics. Good riddance.

Bill Bolling is popular? He won in 2005 by a margin of a little more than 1%. Now Mark Warner, he’s popular; and he won the 2001 gubernatorial election with five times the support. While I don’t think Wagner is clinching this race by any means, calling Bolling popular would be an exaggeration.

Wow, you compare the vote count from four years ago to determine someones popularity and not his track record for the past four years as LTG. What a joke.
