Drifters Report! Where have YOU seen Deeds?
By D.J. Spiker | Saturday, September 26th, 2009 | PoliticsDrifters,
You may have noticed the date, September 26th, a mere 38 days until E-Day. And if you’ve noticed as I have, there is little to no Creigh Deeds presence in the area. So I’m curious where in the area you’ve seen a Creigh Deeds yard sign, or Deeds 4×8 (if such mythical things exist) or Deeds bumper sticker. Have you seen any such things?
To date, I have seen an exact total of THREE yard signs, one in Norfolk on Tidewater Drive, one in the garden bed of the rowhouses next to the Midtown Tunnel loop entrance and one sign far down Birdneck Rd.
I have seen just ONE bumper sticker, on a car down from Northern Virginia.
I have seen ZERO 4×8 or 4×4 signs.
What have you seen in the area? We can all tell by now that Creigh Deeds presence in the second largest metropolitan area is laughable, but just how scarce is it? You tell us!

From deep Bolshevik territory (Alexandria portion of Fairfax County): so far I have yet to see a single Deeds AKA Duds bumper sticker. I have seen roughly 1 dozen signs, mostly located within 1/2 mile of the local campaign HQ on Beulah Road. (A facility that is similarly empty)
A couple in Fluvanna… but we’re closer to Deeds Country than most folks.
PWC, not one Deedy yard sign, no Deedy bumper stickers. I feel that cricket video might be making the rounds again soon.
I have seen several in the Valley in Augusta and Staunton but vast majority are known Democrat party members of the local party. A few 4×8′s like 3 or four but same thing, known local hardcore Democrat. Not much excitement here. Have seen maybe three bumper stickers and that was three too many. Cant see people wanting any of the signs in their yards after what the Deeds campaign did at the Buena Vista parade by blocking the majority of the GOP signs with Deeds signs….

BTW I love your blog!
There are plenty of signs up here in Northern Virginia, among those I’ve seen have been on Fairfax County Parkway and Braddock Road. That being said, the first signs didn’t appear until the last few weeks, well after many McDonnell, Bolling, and Cuccinelli signs appeared. I’ve seen no Wagner and few Shannon signs. I’ve seen less than three cars with Deeds, Wagner, and/or Shannon bumper stickers, and no larger signs for them, though I’ve seen 3 of the very large ones for Cuccinelli. And I see McDonnell bumper stickers all over the place.
For this reason, I don’t give much credence to the polls, especially the registered voters ones. The Republican base appears far more fired up, and I’m left wondering how much of the 47% or less supporting Deeds will actually show up on Election Day.
I’ve seen one 4×8 for Deeds in VB — right next to two of McDonnell’s at Princess Anne and S Plaza and one yard sign on Edwin Dr and then one car with a bumper sticker. That’s been it!
Plenty of Deeds yardsigns in west ghent and ghent around my house, even some made before the primary with only Deeds name on them. In Poplar Halls the place is plastered with Deeds signs.
On my commute, I’ve noticed a few (maybe three) 4×8 Deeds signs in Roanoke, but (surprisingly) more McDonnell signs. In Bedford County, maybe three Deeds signs total, all of which are on the lawns of longtime Democratic activists.
I’ve attended 4 or 5 Deeds Meet & Greet and other events in recent weeks. There are lots of signs in Southside Virginia. Don’t forget we are here and we’ll vote for Deeds.
There are 20 mcdonnel signs for every deeds signs. The hardest part is to keep the signs from being vandalized by the deeds folks
I have seen a few Deeds signs around – one on Oyster point and one in the neighborhood behind my apartment building. However, I don’t really count the 2nd one as those homeowners always have Dem signs out. What does surprise me is that I have seen zero Deeds bumper stickers, it is almost like they do not exist.
Deeds 4×8 on Va Beach Blvd by Ingleside Road in front of the ILA Union Building.
