Why Obama doesn’t think he’s lying

Rude? Yes. Breach of decorum? Yes. But who’s right?
Illegal aliens aren’t technically supposed to receive benefits under the plan, but since Congress has opposed verifying citizenship for benefits, how would anyone know? Illegal aliens aren’t technically supposed to have jobs either. They aren’t technically supposed to be here.
But Obama made a broader point on CBS which told me why the thinks he’s being straightforward and honest about it all.
“First of all, I’d like to create a situation where we’re dealing with illegal immigration, so that we don’t have illegal immigrants,” he said. “And we’ve got legal residents or citizens who are eligible for the plan. And I want a comprehensive immigration plan that creates a pathway to achieve that.”
In other words, if we put illegal immigrants on a pathway to being legal, then they aren’t illegal anymore, so we can say we aren’t covering health care for illegals because we’ve legalized them all.
Obama’s plan won’t cover illegal immigrants because he doesn’t want there to be any illegal immigrants. That’s what he said. So he’s either deporting them all or proposing a pathway to legality. You tell me which choice matches his words.
Of course, that means that those illegally in this country today would eventually be covered under Obama’s health plan, once Obama makes them legal.
So with all due respect to Rep. Wilson, Obama’s not lying. He’s just not telling you everything.

On a political level, Roll Call reports today that Wilson’s Democratic challenger in next year’s mid-term elections raised $200,000 overnight as a result of the congressman’s presidential barb.
“He will regret that probably for the rest of his life,” [Representative Emanuel] Cleaver said. “You would think that the opponents of the president would think that to be out of place. It in some ways shows where we are in terms of the partisan divide.” ‘
His comment was way out of place. NEVER before has any congressman called a President a liar in a public setting. He could be censured, or worse.
The beauty of Wilson’s (R-CrazyTown) shrill outburst is that it highlights the enormous unhingery thats been the staple of the GOP since the radical muslim manchurian candidate came on the scene. Consider it a microcosm or a distillation of the insanity that is…

Frankly, i think the GOP should push health care legislation that demands that illegals and others without insurance be left at the emergency room curb.
Funny how thin the skin of some like of JeffConn and Foobar can be. I remember eight years of heckling that makes Joe Wilson’s outburst seem like a subtle rolling of the eyes. That does not excuse Congressman Wilson’s behavior, but as much as Democrats and Democratic politicians gave in recent years, you’d have to figure they could take it as well. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
I am on a fixed income, but I just sent Congressman Wilson a check for $50.00! He only said what we were all thinking!
Sure Obama says Federal money won’t be spent on Illegal Aliens! Thats because he intends to give them all a “path” to citizenship….. so they won’t be illegals anymore! Poof! Presto! No Federal money for Illegals!
Come on Liberals! Get your thick head out of the socialistic clouds!
