Deeds: I’m a work in progress
By | Friday, September 4th, 2009 | Politics

Deeds would like you to forgive him for his past last April:

A far cry
from what he thinks today:

“[McDonnell] wasn’t 20 years old when he wrote it. He was 34. I was 34 when I was sworn into the House of Delegates and certainly the things I did when I was 34, I’m going to be taken to task for in this campaign,” he said.

but mere moments later…

‘In 1989, I was 31 years old, I was a prosecutor, we’d had our third child … I was trying cases in Bath County every day. I’m sure there were views that were different in 1989 than they are today,’ he said.”

We can’t get a straight-forward policy plan out of the guy…why should we expect a straight story?

He’s speaking specifically about his voting record surrounding Marshall-Newman and gay marriage in general. I’m definitely not happy about his history on this subject, and he knows that it’s a sore spot with progressives in Virginia.
