McDonnell widens lead in Rasmussen poll
By | Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 | Politics

McDonnell gains three more points and widens his lead in the Rasmussen poll to 9-points. This is a 15-point swing to McDonnell in two months, which we called here on BD two months ago.

I wonder how well that anti-abortion, perpetuate lies, “me-too” strategy is working for Deeds? Perhaps you or I should ask him today when he goes on RTD for a live interview at 12:45 p.m.

Just left my question over at RTD…wonder if they’ll use it:

    Sen. Deeds,
Do you condone the misinformation spread by your campaign manager, Joe Abbey, yesterday in a tweet about Bob McDonnell that sensationalized where a Confederate flag was located? Have you reprirmanded Mr. Abbey for spreading the myth? Do you take back your comment accusing McDonnell of saying something he didn’t say last week? And, what are your own personal feelings about the confederate flag?
    Thank you,

    Here’s mine:

Will you disavow the dishonest tactics of your campaign manager and your supporters who attempted yesterday to impugn your opponent with the patently obvious false accusation that his campaign was displaying a Confederate flag at an event?

And while we’re on the topic, how do you feel about the Confederate flag? Did you not tell the Roanoke Times in 1999, “I grew up in a house with a portrait of the Confederate flag on the wall. I grew up in a house with a portrait of Robert E. Lee on the wall over my bed.”
