Did Pelosi just discipline Glenn Nye?
By Brian Kirwin | Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 | PolicyGlenn Nye shunned Democrats by opposing every major initiative of Nancy Pelosi this year, except one – Obama’s budget resolution stimulus. The road to budget reconciliation is where the real money is allocated, though and Glenn Nye dropped the ball.
According to some nifty reporting by Avenging Archangel, the study for extensions to light rail was seeking 3.5 million in funding. Nye personally asked for the 3.5 million.
It got a measly $400K in the House of Representatives. Pelosi payback?

A measly $400,000? Nye gets blasted by you no matter what so he has got to laugh when the staffers send him this blog… And “some nifty reporting” who are you kidding? The info is public info and can be found by an 8th grader…
BTW: What happened to the conservative folks who used to post here? Really: Are you asking for a 3.5 million dollar welfare handout? I thought you were opposed to the democratic handouts and the wasting of our tax dollars by the dastardly democrats. Now you want millions more in federal money flowing?
Look at it this way: she saved the taxpayers 3.1 million dollars by not funding it all. I’d think it would be a win for you. But I guess wasted welfare money and reckless spending has many different meanings depending on your party political points… LOL
Hey Union Bill, I know it’s impossible to tear yourself away from bashing everything that doesn’t mean more power for your union (like volunteers) and more spending on your membership (like those radios you wanted funded so badly that you supported a tax increase that didn’t even pay for your radios).
When a Congressman in the Majority Party gets a 3.5 million dollar request for a study that’s fairly routinely paid for by the Feds, and gets slapped with a 400K line item, it’s worth pointing it out ahead of when Nye mails me my taxpayer-funded glossy mailing telling me how hard he’s working for us.
I don’t think Nye supported Obama’s budget resolution. You may be thinking of the stimulus.
Ah, yes….you are correct. Thank you.
GFR,
It was reported during last Thursday’s TDCHR meeting that it was in the House omnibus Transportation Budget bill.
