Virginians to Watch
By | Monday, July 13th, 2009 | Politics

This week, Politico released its list of 50 Politicos to Watch. Virginia took a disproportionate number of slots. Who are they and what category did Politico put them in?

Bob McDonnell, AG & Gubernatorial frontrunner (R) – Outside the Beltway
Glenn Nye, (D-VA-2) – Rookies of the Year
Jennifer McClellan, Democratic Strategist – Outside the Beltway

Who else will I be watching? Nikki Nikki HaleyHaley of South Carolina made Politicos “Under-the-Radar” category and caught my eye – not only for her apparently quick rise but her conservative credentials and issue-focused rhetoric. She’s running for SC Governor now, but who knows what could be next for this blue-collar Indian-American politico.

It is interesting Politico still gives Glenn Nye Rookie of the Year honors even after they made hay of his contradictory email replies to a constituent.
