Deeds Starts To Be Shown The Money
By | Monday, July 13th, 2009 | Politics

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Creigh Deeds’s campaign announed today that he has raised $3. million from May 28th through June 30th.

$500,000 of that came from the Democratic Governor’s Association (the same organization behind the carpetbagging paper tiger Common Sense Virginia – which got awfully quiet once the Democratic primary was over) and another $600,000 came from unions – $500,000 from AFSCME and another $100,000 from SEIU.

Another $335,500 in large pre-election contributions were recorded from May 28 – June 9th.

Still, $1.9 million isn’t bad for a month though it will be interesting to see how much of that was before the June 8th primary and how much of the rest came from indivual contributors in Virginia versus moneyed interests and unions.

Forget Deeds being shown the money, how about the Democrats who run the state of Virginia showing themselves the money? Would you mind posting about how ridiculous it is that the state is offering its employees short term, below market rate loans with my money please?

Apparently McDonnell is awash in cash.

He has $5 million in the bank and 75% of his donors during this reporting period were from in Virginia.

Deeds is relying on large contributions by a small number of outside Virginia donors; McDonnell is getting many small contributions from lots of voters in Virginia.

Definitely a good trend for McD.
