Yes it is. It reminds me of the “Bush” 2000 stickers that were next to the “Warner Gov” stickers in 2001.

Umm… yea. The Obama sticker right next to McDonnell will really make an impression on conservatives. Very telling.

Given that most conservatives want to win this time…yea, I think so.

And, Britt, as a Libertarian, you’re hardly conservative. Fiscally, perhaps. But on other fronts…not even close.

So, a member of the Libertarian Party automatically isn’t conservative? At least you acknowledge that I am a Fiscal Conservative.

I do absolutely support Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli.

So is the Obama sticker really what it takes to win? Maybe it is what it takes for McDonnell to win. It isn’t what it takes for Republicans that haven’t betrayed their base. McDonnell lost part of his base. Other Republicans won’t need Left wing support. Even if I am not a social conservative, that doesn’t mean I can’t notice a distinct difference between McDonnell and other Republicans and determine that it might hurt his chances with part of his base.

You are right that I am a little more moderate on some social issues.
    For the record:

    1) I am for the separation of church and state. That distance between government and religion should also be a seperation from atheism as well. Government should be neutral and protect the rights to all religions including Christianity. I was the Libertarian that ripped into alleged Republicans for bashing Jeff Frederick by ridiculing his faith. Other Republicans stood by and said nothing. Why? Even if you thought Frederick was the worst possible chair, how was that not offensive? You could condemn that at the same time you demanded his removal. (This is aimed at posters not contributors or you personally)

Since I don’t believe “might makes right” and fear the tyranny of the majority, I hold that this neutrality is necessary. You might agree with me if Christians ever become a minority. A flood of Catholics from Mexico could end up having your children praying to Mother Mary rather than to God directly, otherwise.

    2) I want 0 abortions if possible. That said, when it comes to rape, incest, and the first trimester, I’m not as judgemental. I leave that to God. Unless the health of the mother is in jeopardy, I think late term abortions should be illegal. Possible exception for severely deformed babies that will die anyway. My opinion changes in small degrees during continual internal debate. This is really an issue, I don’t like to think about. As a flawed human being, I know I may not be right on this issue.

    3) I favor school choice and a voucher system. Even if the parents want to send their children to private school with a particular religious teaching. Choice and competition is good. I believe the father and mother make better parents than the government.

    4) I love America. We are hardly perfect, but we are the best. I don’t feel a need to apologize for being free or capitalist.

    5) I believe we need the best and strongest military possible.

    6) I am a big fan of Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. (Some disagreement on some issues doesn’t change that.)

    7) Ronald Reagan was the best president to serve during my life time (up to this point, who knows what the future may bring).

    8) I no longer think affirmative action serves the good of the country. While not perfect, there is too much opportunity for minorities now to warrant being unfair to any white men that are more qualified. All hires should be merit based.

    9) I strongly support the right to be armed under the 2nd amendment.

    10) Eminent Domain abuse is an evil that must be stopped. Some will agree with me that this is a conservative view. Some authoritarians in the Republican party will call this liberal thinking.

    11) I believe the color that represents the Republican Party is Blue and not Red. The color red was a force fed change engineered by the liberal parts of the media.

Where do I go left even a little more?

    1) I think homosexuals are still human. I don’t think that is the healthiest life style but, I am not sure what choices they have. I leave that stuff to our creator to judge. I am not worthy. Therefore, I think they are entitled to the same natural rights and I interact with people that just happen to be gay, like I would with anyone else. I do admit to being grossed out by overly flamboyant and effeminate behavior. That is a subjective reaction to public behavior.

I don’t believe in gay marriage, but I do believe civil unions should be allowed. I could care less if two guys call each other husband or wife. It changes nothing.

    2) Unlike McDonnell, I believe heterosexual couples should feel free to engage in oral sex as long as it is in a private setting and between consenting adults. Same for homosexuals, but again, it must be in private. Public restrooms and parks are not private. Sorry Larry Craig (R). Getting hook ups on the phone like Ed Schrock (R) did, is at least private until somebody narcs or wires get tapped. Obama is in office, you GOP guys better stay straight. Hillary might go get your FBI files……..again!

    3) “Those that would trade away freedom for security deserve neither” – Ben Franklin
I still believe in the Constitution and freedom. Warrants can be had quickly at all hours. Retroactive options are also possible. Warrantless intrusions are manifestations of laziness, bad budgeting, and men playing “god” thinking they can remove our natural rights. I call this conservative thinking, but I understand others will see it differently. Authoritarians will view this as liberal thinking. Democrat Authoritarians will not see it as liberal thinking.

You may trust spying on the public to Bush, but what about Obama, Biden, and Clinton? If you’re Democrat, you risk trusting Republicans with any unconstitutional powers you allow Democrats to get away with taking. Remember, these Presidents have as a tradition of revenge, had the IRS target the opposition with audits. This calls their motives into question in other areas where their opponents may be unfairly vulnerable.

    3) I believe it is ok to drink alcohol on Sunday.

    4) I believe it is ok to hunt animals on Sunday

    5) Pot. Its bad for you. It makes you too lazy to call your representatives on their BS. Pot probably will cause you to forget which representative just screwed you over. Pot will keep you from getting a good job if there is work place testing. Unless you have cancer or glaucoma, pot is generally bad. That said, it is your body. If you’re stupid enough to smoke it, that’s your choice, not mine, or the government’s.

Ok, socially I’m not as conservative. Close in some aspects, I would claim. I’m certainly not that big of a problem for the GOP there. In fact, on some issues we agree.

At least now, you have enough information to call me a name regarding social issues. I’ll leave that choice of names to each person’s individual opinion. Although, I may not personally agree.

Liberal ……Conservative…..Republican….Democrat…..Libertarian. Call me what you will, I guess. It is only a name. A rose by any other name will smell just as sweetly.
